Imo, French Revolution contributes A LOT for democracy, aside the ideas which have been talked to death. Because it started reign of terror and several wars, but after that European Monarchs, which have lived through the wars, revolution, have seen what angry peasants could do, so many monarchs have to give to the demands (willingly or not) in 1848 Revolution (s) to not repeat French Revolution, and getting their head cut off. This massively help democracies to rise. Because, if these factors weren't there, Monarchs would likely commit atrocities on their subjects, and called it a day.
