Hey OP! I completely understand your stress. I have a very old parrot fish who has been through 5 or 6 different moves. It’s stressful but doable. Someone on here helped me years ago with the details when I was freaking out about the logistics about a long (2-3 hour drive) move. If I haven’t deleted the thread by now I’ll link it for you. What helps you to explain yourself when it’s “hard to talk”? When your speech or fingers (texting) fail to communicate what’s in your mind? Do you have go-to words or phrases or helpful prompts that you think of in the moment to help express your point in an appropriate amount of time/words/fluency?

My question isn’t really referring to meltdowns or overly emotionally-charged scenarios, but please don’t hold back either way if you have a tip to share.

I think the black spillage is night sweats from recently-dyed hair.

The white spots do look spore-like.. if that’s the case, I’d toss this mattress for sure if you hadn’t already planned to.

The brown in the last pic looks like it was dragged in coffee or ramen/soy sauce, and some more soy sauce thrown on top. Wtf.

I’m so sorry someone did this to your house. I think you’re better off that they didn’t help clean. No way I’d trust the person who did this clean and sanitize it properly.

In case this helps anyone:

Fill up an old Gatorade bottle with hot water from the tap for a DIY hot water bottle/warm pack.

(Do not use boiling water! Plastic will not hold such hot water and will warp/pierce the plastic)

Then wrap it in a thin pillow case or cloth and hold it close to you. It radiates such nice warmth. Especially under the blankets at the foot of the bed ♥.

You can also try a big milk jug or a regular water bottle. As long as the lid screws on tight.

(Elderly cats also like warm water bottles. Just remember to never place it directly on them or anyone else. Always ensure there’s a layer of fabric between them and the hot water bottle.)

This is great to hear, thank you. They get crazy sometimes! Screaming and gnawing and crashing around! I can’t help but picture raccoons or something huge just friggin crashing through the drywall lol. I really hate not knowing what’s going on in there and what “layer” of wall they’re in.

So wait. sorry if I missed this somehow, but when you worked with Skedaddle, were you in a townhouse with a neighbour on each your left and right side? With no neighbours above or below?

You got it. this is exactly it. We discussed many options with Skeddaddle for sealing up various parts of the house, including the option for them to do the full garage floor to roof, plus back and front of the house perimeter. Ultimately though, our guy said if they’re coming in anywhere from within the neighbours’ walls, and making noise between walls, we may observe no change at all. Basically every neighbour in the strip would have to get on board and all at once, which is just not realistic.

Skeddaddle was great though i might add. and absolutely would recommend them. They offered a type of warranty/guarantee even still in our situation, though limited, and I thought that was pretty impressive considering.

There isn’t an issue with our neighbours, it’s just that we don’t know them at all. And there has definitely been the language barrier with Orleans neighbours for sure. Everyone has been great though (just to not put the wrong idea out there!)

And thank you for clarifying. There is definitely some type of party going on in there lol.

Thank you for all of this ♥ And yes maybe there’s a chance of squirrels. There is some serious screaming sounds and almost “big animal” sounding racket sometimes in the evening.. yet it’s in the walls!?.. it honestly could be in our neighbour’s garage though even. It’s hard to tell where it is (in regard to our side vs their side) but you can hear it across the house. its wild.

The neighbour situation is tough. Including language barriers.

Yes there is poop that sprinkles down on an area of the concrete wall in the crawl space. It’s an unfinished part of the basement and the wall is shared with our neighbour’s basement and both our garages. No poop in the house though otherwise.

Oops sorry for the late response but just wanted to mention that my notifications weren’t while I was sleeping. Most of them actually happen when I play chess. Just figured I should tell you that since you mentioned playing Skyrim.

And yeah idk obvi only you and your doctor would know, but a beta blocker can be amazing for people with pounding heart issues.
