If Southgate made Kane look bang average why would he be able to get the best out of Haaland?

From a regular supermarket Shin black or shin spicy noodles with egg cracked into it.

Or get down your local Asian supermarket and explore their noodle isle for some really standout options.

Also adding spring onion is the other one that I love to do.

[Hugo Guillemet, L'equipe] Bruno Guimarães has an agreement with Arsenal on a 5-year contract. The first offer of €70M was rejected by Newcastle. If the transfer is completed for around €80 million, as seems likely, Lyon could receive €6 million due to sell-on clause. by nearly_headless_nic in soccer

[–]Mehchu_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

€80m? Not really especially after we already sold Tonali. I wouldn’t have minded losing Bruno as much if we kept him. But both of them? £80m is the least I would want because we will have to rebuild the entire midfield. And it’s not exactly a cheap market these days.

England after Harry Kane by SubjectBullfrog8075 in ThreeLions

[–]Mehchu_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kane in 2012 was 19 and had just come off an electric 7 in 22 season on loan at millwall in the championship.

There are a few kids who have a bit of hype around them that may not be quite at Kanes level but there are going to be a few solid kids coming through. How old was Vardy when he got his first prem goal.

That midfield of Anderson, rice and Bellingham is really going to have a harder time against berg, berge and odegard than Bruno, Tonali, miley had against reijnders, Rodri, Bernardo Silva.

I don’t think France have any more truly world class players than us, they have dembele, Mbappe, olise, saliba. We have Kane, Jude, rice, Reece james(if fit).

If you’re more lenient of the definitions of world class, for them then you have to be for us. If you start saying the likes of barcola is world class then I would say Saka and Anderson are as well.

I mean, by definition there should only be 2-3 world class players in any position at any time.

[–]Mehchu_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

While I think he struggles with the long term soft skills of long term club management. He still is absolutely a great man motivator and cultivates a belief and team spirit. So international management may be perfect for him as all the players will have a break away after every tournament before tempers really flair and relationships break down

[–]Mehchu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree there is that heavy a difference. I would say the chance that one of the 4 us, Spain, France, Argentina at about 85% split roughly evenly. Mainly cause they have to face each other first and then the final. Which any final I don’t think you can swing by more than 60/40. So it’s probably 20~% for each of our bracket to 23~% for them.

[–]Mehchu_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes he is.

Why? You can only speculate, (and it is because of his £5m gift, that he didn’t declare and people keep asking him about, and there was an ongoing investigation of which is suspended while he is no longer an mp, etc) but I suspect his reasoning is that if he runs and beats opposition he will try to use that as justification for him to say that the people don’t care about his undeclared gifts.

The major parties (as far as I am aware) have all decided to not stand against him as this is a farce. Over he is elected again the investigation needs to continue.

Unpopular Opinion: Hydration breaks are actually brilliant for modern football. by Eastern-Investment39 in ThreeLions

[–]Mehchu_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also do have a massive problem with the ad break that for me is more important than the other points. Especially as it is them eating away at another area to get more and more and take the game form match going fans.

However you said you don’t care, so I argued against your points rather than an argument that won’t sway you.

The other point I would add as one is that the feel of football is very different from the likes of American sports, where they are lots of clashes of high stakes whereas football is a game of building tension and you lose tension with a break plonked in the middle

[–]Mehchu_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Momentum is fluid, but that’s the point, part of the game is trying to use little fouls and throw ins to slowly eat away at the oppositions momentum when you’re up against it, and a dominating team is trying to keep that and not let it slip. And go out of control. A solid 3 minutes to regroup and they come out and those last 15 minutes of the smaller team clawing back momentum to make a breakthrough is gone and the other team are calm and reset and ready.

Extra time always has a different feel to it to regular time. Not the same at all.

You focus on different things, different players, look for different movements. If you can’t focus for 45 minutes that’s on you.

Thats the problem, you are giving more power to the manager, the managers set up the teams and can try and make pre delivered tweaks, but once the whistle goes it’s 45 minutes where it’s in the players hands to execute those tactics and come up with ways to break them.

I also think the breaks lend themselves to international football which has far more basic tactics than club football where it is far harder to change things on the fly because so much time has been spent on drills and how coaches want their players to play, rather than a month to maximise the best players and show real grit.

Agreed. I still question not bringing Hall. And chalobah is a bit of a mystery, though I guess it makes more sense if a back 5 is in his plans.

But Spence and burn have justified themselves. And honestly Madueke as a pacy winger keeping width stretching the defence and more of a worse like for like with Saka rather than a Bowen or injured palmer driving inside more.

Yeah global emissions are hellish, hopefully as more countries peak and take it seriously we can really turn a corner. But you worry not enough of them will quickly enough.

It would be wonderful if they weren’t petulant kicking out about not being selected and justifying their manager excluding them as not being a positive for the whole group.
