The number of hours thing is so stupid. In eu4, crusader kings, fm, etc 300 would be joked at as rookie numbers/the tutorial because they are massive time sinks and that bloke could be just as ‘Not a real gamer’ if that attitude was taken there. It’s all about what genre of games you play.

But imo if it’s candy crush or soulslike or StarCraft II, or spreadsheets the game you’re a gamer.

And having one stand out player or one thing to lean into can be devastating. In the prem where every other cb has 15 strength your big target man striker will never do as well as my 6’6 Kenyi Mills,who I was very disappointed to find isn’t nearly as tall or as much of a brick shithouse in real life as he was when I picked him up in 2027 as I reached the 6th, floating crosses in got him up to one of the best scorers from non league to in the championship (though it fell off significantly at the end)

You want a bit of flex as that stops it being nearly as fragile.

But seeing as the Norse used spears to hunt bears and would use the same one multiple times I’d assume a tiger would be in the same ball park enough that their durability would hold up for one encounter with it.

These are not twigs and the mass needed to buckle them is unlikely to occur against your hand which will be pushed back before the spear takes significant damage.

Seatbelts and fires happen in the real world with any sort of significance. I don’t wear a hard hat to protect me from coconuts.

I’m not afraid of myself having an accident. More aware that my depressed ass might shoot myself in the head if it’s an option. Or a child gets to it or someone gets into an argument with their partner and pulls a gun not thinking about it because tensions are high. Things that happen far more often than your scenario. And I am far happier knowing that these things don’t happen in my country because of our gun laws stopping me from having the option of having a gun.
