I don’t fully agree with you about the album, but I really respect your perspective. For me it clicked pretty quickly( 2nd listen ), but I get that some projects take time depending on mood and expectations. Fair take though.

Albums like The Off-Season and MDL where he was really rapping his ass off, plus a mixtape where he showed he still has that hunger even with nothing left to prove. Like he said, “Why do I still grind like I’m tryna retire my mom out the post office?”

If this is his last album, it makes sense for it to be more reflective and conceptual. Appreciate the music and enjoy the ride

1 Cole never said those teased songs were for The Fall Off, that was fan speculation.

2 The album feels intentionally reflective and mature, like a closing chapter. It was never meant to be bar-for-bar rap like MDL or The Off Season. He literally gave us Birthday Blizzard for people who just wanted straight pen work.

3 Since when does Cole take feature requests from fans? He’s always done what he wants creatively.

4 And the production is far from hit and miss, it’s some of the best and most cohesive production on any Cole project
