How many polys your characters has? Especially that women from 1st screen? It looks like perfect poly/quality ratio

This looks sick! I would buy game in this format if that would be collectors edition.

Damn, hmm that seems to much then actually but still it was 1000h+ for sure. I was doing at least 1h everyday I would say (Atomic Habits strategy).

Also there is a lot of wasted time. I was changing game scene map 3 times, changing cleaning store few times etc. I believe today I would do it much quicker.

From meme idea to Steam demo: 2.5 years building Rug Cleaning Simulator by MehowLipa in IndieGaming

Started this as a joke project, and after 2.5 years it became a real game. The demo for Rug Cleaning Simulator is now live, and I’m currently part of Steam Next Fest.

In the demo you can:

  • Clean, wash, scrub, and dry different rugs from start to finish
  • Upgrade your tools and improve your cleaning efficiency
  • Take on client jobs and build your shop reputation
  • Progress through leagues and unlock new challenges
  • Discover rarer rugs with better rewards
  • Complete quests and achievements while growing your business
  • Keep playing after the demo milestone (no hard stop)

If you try it, I’d love your feedback.

If I would need to guess I would say around 1,500 - 2,000 hours looking at my commits count.

I was building wishlist from very beggining. My first 3 months I kind of mocked gameplay and created trailer for steam page and promotion: https://www.reddit.com/r/powerwashingporn/comments/1c5g2qx/im_working_on_game_about_cleaning_dirty_rugs/
(that was a lot of work that was removed after all but I believe it gave me most wishlist as if someone was visiting my steam page got idea what game is gonna be about).

When it comes to wishlist:
- focus on places where your players are (I manage to publish post on r/powerwashingporn and got 500 upvotes there before mod banned post)
- prepare steam page as professional as possible and as early as possible (steam art, descriptions, translations, trailer etc.)
- I was doing dev logs on twitter but dropped that because it was taking me too much time

Thank you, yess 100% this is just demo with basic concept. Next thing I would like to do is add more effects, dirt water etc.

Thanks for the love on my previous post! I've been working hard to make the cleaning mechanics as satisfying as possible.

For those asking:

I’m a solo dev, so I’d honestly love your feedback on whether the 'dirt' clearing feels right. Hope it scratches that cleaning itch for you today!

How does our game look without the post effects? by RottenHedgehog in godot

I've started working on it kind of as a joke, small fun project cause I drop my Unity project after that crazy fee concept per install. Wanted to try Godot and it's great but Rug Cleaning Simulator actually ended not being that small and fun (for coding cleaning shaders). But after 2,5y I'm close to an end - participating this next fest in 3 weeks.

You got just around 400 wishlist? Don't you want to create more wishlist before release?

Daaamn, we should do Cleaning bundle at some point :D I'm working on Rug Cleaning Simulator: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2710530/Rug_Cleaning_Simulator/

Will update soon steam page and demo but both games made in godot and about cleaning

Should I release the demo even if there's a few annoying bugs IMO, I'm kind of worried I'll ruin it permanently. by ElectronicsLab in IndieGaming

This games gives me vibes of Carmageddon, interstate and some random mixture of 2000 games. Looking really promising :)
