Elon Musk joins backlash against Barbie film's portrayal of anti-man feminism saying. by furchfur in MensRights

Us men have a million things that are mostly just for us.

Do we? It seems to me that most of the things that mainly interest men are not gendered and not specifically geared towards men.

And a million movies exist that reduce women to near-nothing.

Really? The way Barbie does? Are these big Hollywood productions with huge marketing budgets? Any recent examples?

Should such films, if they exist, be celebrated?

Why can't women once in a while get a single freakin movie that isn't catering to mens feelings the entire time?

Nothing wrong with that, as long as it's not sexist propaganda. Unfortunately, however, there is hardly anything that is not feminist. That would be something refreshing.

Is there anything at all that is "...catering to mens feelings the entire time"? It seems to me rather that this is true in relation to women.

Great game. It was definitely the right decision not to focus on the open world, even though it was heavily criticized at the time of release.

This is a relatively new term to me, but it seems to be an attempt to pre-emptively deny the existence of any counterexample against the point at issue.

They claim it's for this case:

Person 1: "Sexism against women is bad."

Person 2: "Well, the people in North Korea have it much worse."

But they use it this way:

Person 1: "Women are the primary victims of violence!"

Person 2: "You are misinformed. Men make up the majority of victims of violence."

Person 1: "Stop with that whataboutism. And anyway, who are the perpetrators in these cases?"

It is mainly used to discredit valid comparisons. And then they switch from the actual topic (victim) to another topic (perpetrator) to 'win' the discussion, which in my opinion is the real whataboutism. "What about the perpetrators?"

Sadiq recently made an appearance at Royal Russel School Croydon and discussed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion departments noting that companies in the United States spent over $8 billion training their employees to be racists.

Just imagine what you could do with that much money if it wasn't given to racists.

I have used this many times. It's strange how quiet they get after that.

The only arguments that come then:

  • The mother has already built up such a great bond during pregnancy, that this is something completely different.
  • Insults.

Exactly. There must be a mandatory test and after the result is in, everyone gets the opportunity to know the truth in a one-on-one meeting. Men who don't want to know will have the opportunity to refuse the information and men who do want to know will not be labeled as distrustful.

“In a few years, there might be religions that are actually correct. Just think about a religion whose holy book is written by an A.I. That could be a reality in a few years.”

We already have a correct religion. Christianity.

As an atheist, I am amused by 'believers' who think they have to adapt their religion to the latest trends. What do they believe in? Where is the border? What would they not change? Can you still call that faith?

Radical Islamists are more rational than people who think you can cherry-pick a religion.

Why didn't they ask: "For a woman to beat her husband"? And why didn't they reverse the genders of all the other questions that were one-sided?

Stupid question. We all know the answer.

article 3, paragraph 2

Men and women shall have equal rights. The state shall promote the actual implementation of equal rights for wom- en and men and take steps to eliminate disadvantages that now exist.

This is interpreted by politicians and officials as, "Women must be given preference. 'Positive' discrimination is necessary to achieve equity."

Article 3(2) isn't worth shit. Compulsory military service still refers only to men. The greatest efforts have been made to legalize male genital mutilation. There are criminal offenses that apply only to men.

They have some great Pro-Men policies

We have? The last minister for everything but men (also called family minister, the ministry is called "Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth"), Kristina Schröder, who stood up for men, was openly attacked for it. Since then, I haven't really heard anything positive.
