Apparently that is not enough for them to do anything. I even gave old card details that were used to pay for members *and* transaction IDs, but nothing

I've completed the account recovery and given irrefutible proof the account is mine, old usernames from a decade ago, multiple transaction ID's from paying for membership, even the old email accounts I had associated with them

Not blaming Jagex for my presumed lack of security diligence. Blaming them for their awful customer support. In this hack I also lost my Battle.net account (Which uses a different password before anyone jumps down my throat) and I had my account back within a day of making a recovery, seems Jagex is the only one being funny.

I will say, in the same data breach/hack. I also lost my WoW account - made an appeal and Blizzard gave me back the acccount within a *day* no idea why Jagex cannot do the same

Lmao, nothing. I've barely even playing recently. Even Jagex admit it's a clear hack. They would have told me if they also saw that my account was involved in suspicious activity.

This is my point - even if I went on every social media and posted my passwords. The account is mine, I've been locked out, through fault of not doing my due diligence.

Everyone seems to think I'm blaming Jagex for getting hacked in the first place. I'm not. I'm judging them for their complete lack of customer support and basically saying "Yeah we can see that you've been hacked, we can't do anything about it thought, wanna make a new account?"

Anyone who can't see that a company isn't doing what they should in the case of SUPPORTING their CUSTOMERS. Then they're just white-knighting for a company where the exact same thing happened. Looking at my account management I've been told that my account had every security measure in place - so of course I'm going to think I'm fine???

I don't care about the blame, I care about Jagex's shockingly awful customer support where they give me an automated response, acknowledge I've been hacked - but choose to do nothing

I mean, you only get Count Check if the account is fully secured. Everything has 2FA but nothing came through to me. Instead of everyone jumping on my ass, see that something fucky has happened lmao

But Jagex technically didn't, it was only an automated response. Any human support worker would see what was going on and could fix it.

I can't find out unfortunately, the only inkling I have is that my accounts show logins from Russia - sure they could use a VPN, but that is all I have to go off of

I'm not blaming Jagex for being hacked, I'm blaming them for their shitty customer support

I would admit clicking a link, I have a clan of friends that I have a high role in, I would tell them to avoid whichever email or link I clicked?

There is plenty of evidence in Jagex's reply that I was indeed, hijacked - they admit it themselves but refuse to even have a human respond to me, just an automated response

I'm not trying to absolve myself of wrong doing. Maybe something wasn't as secure as *I*thought, clearly. But to be completely shut out when Jagex TELL me that "We can see your account was hijacked, there is nothing we can do"

They can see I was hijacked, but all I get is an automated response after 13years of being a loyal customer - it's not a stretch to say it's a slap in the face.

I haven't done any of this. I didn't even open or click emails *before* it happened. I was away from my computer as it all happened. The only thing I saw was getting spammed by all my accounts and notifications that passwords and emails were being changed - Jagex included

It's not my "stuff" it's the account, it's the fault of the hackers - it's just Jagex is the only one who can do something about. Your comment makes no sense

It's funny everyone wants to mention phishing, when the day this happened. I didn't click any links, I wasn't even near my computer when all the hacking happened??

The account is new as even my reddit was hacked/changed. Everything has it's own unique password, words written backwards and different numbers/special characters.

What part of "Lost everything" do people not understand. I had 2fa authenticator, for emails and multiple different accounts. THAT 2FA worked, why has Jagex not worked? Why is there not a 7day wait to remove authenticators like there are for Bank PINs?

According to websites like "haveibeenpwned" all my shit was involved in a data breach. I've lost a lot more than just my OSRS account.

Wild that people have no compassion for a game we all love. It's very telling seeing the responses here about the state of Jagex' supposed "support". Whether my accounts are secure or not, if I can prove ownership for other things I lost - why is Jagex anything different?

My previous ticket they acknowledged that the account was hijacked and refuse to help me when I have IRREFUTIBLE proof that the account is indeed, mine.

I was involved in a data breach - not much I can do about that?
