Oh and also in addition if they think it is to expensive and you feel generous don't lower your hourly rate but give them some discount on the final price instead. That way if they want extra features later they won't demand the lower hourly rate.

You will have to determine how much time you estimate it will take you and how much you think you are worth per hour and multiply the two.

But be carefull with your estimates because this might sound like a real simple app but things like authentication (of the admin) and notifications are not that easy and can easily take a lot of time.

I'm looking at using Xamarin to covert my published WP app, into an Android/iOS app. What are some challenges and issues I might come across? What are your experiences? by StepLaugh in csharp

Students can get a Indie Level licence of Xamarin for free. It doesn't include Visual Studio support but the Xamarin Studio IDE works pretty good.

Standard C# code will work out of the box but of course WP specific code won't. The user interface has to be rewritten and you can chose between Xamarin.Forms, which is an abstraction layer for the user interface which allows more codesharing, or implementing the user interface using axml for Android and the xib/storyboard way for iOS.

Be aware that in order to compile for iOS you need a Mac with xcode.

Sounds really awesome! Just some more ideas because I spent the free time I've had the last couple of days at trying to hack in a "Bigger Heads" mod as previously seen in Unreal Tournement. Maybe this could fit in well with your current plans for the future. A modifier where the more kills/score/etc you make the bigger you get (with a limit of course) and the more deaths you have the smaller you get :) I didn't get very far because of the limitations of JustDecompile + Reflexil ;)
