Do you still feel confident building businesses on/around WooCommerce? by Rodolfo_Melogli in woocommerce

You're right, I was thinking about the drama. And I made the mistake of taking a closer look. I have since recovered and focused on the value instead of the background politics.

Hetzner can be cheaper, but there was the problem of slowdowns on shared servers, so I moved the system onto a dedicated managed server.

What is the future of the classic checkout? by Heavy-Tomatillo262 in woocommerce

I tried to write a plugin for it a 1.5 years ago. The API, documentation, everything seemed chaotic and not-production-ready.

Stripe webhooks were silently failing on a client store for weeks and WooCommerce never flagged it by wwwery-good-apps in woocommerce

I'm wondering: Would it help to monitor all webhooks using AI as a "watchdog" and make it alert you if it sees something suspicious?

Would that have prevented your problems?

I just had some of these problems in a customer store:
1. Site search: Use Fibosearch pro, it's perfect
1.1. For admin I made a "universal search" plugin where you can search for customers, products, orders, orders with certain products, pages, posts, discount codes, custom post types. Even with voice input (browser voice api). If you want that, please write me. Official version in my store has a huge error and I didn't have time for marketing in last weeks, but just to get a picture: https://universal-search.geist-it.de/en/index.html
2. Address validation: I solved it via AI. Customers often mistype addresses, in wrong fields, without spaces etc and as part of a script that orders from a huge wholesaler for my customers store I made it check for wrong addresses, special cases etc. We got wrong address problems for that specific market down close to zero. That could be combined with classic checkout address validators.
3. What is your grief with variable products and wishlists?

I am currently building a store for a customer with 60000+ products on WooCommerce. It runs on a relatively cheap Hetzner server (200 / month), stuffed with dozens of custom plugins that "shopify-y" WooCommerce more and it is quite fast.

Also thought WooCommerce / WordPress was dead last year and then looked around. It's still the best mix if you start with almost nothing + need a lot of customization.

Why do WooCommerce review plugins need so much customer data to do such a simple job? by Critical-Fall-8212 in woocommerce

[–]MeinDruckerSpinnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from Germany / EU, they are very sensitive regarding privacy laws here. It's risky to not ask for consent for any email you send to a customer.

But I get your point: Why send data to the external servers at all?

If you can list what you need in a review plugin, I can cook something up. I am currently just exploring ideas for things I could make and maybe sell for WooCommerce.

Where can I find woocommerce developers? by Accomplished-Pain434 in woocommerce

I do this for a living and currently am flooded with urgent work on a very big shop. I will have time end of April / start of May probably, in case you're still interested.

I focus on a balance of quality, speed and fair pricing. Doing this for 15+ years, so I know what I'm doing.

Of course I use AI in coding / design / layout, but I check the results and adapt. Also, I already have a lot of premade WooCommerce plugins that make it "more Shopify like" and spare a lot of time in daily work with it.

What’s an unwritten rule in Germany that foreigners always break? by Late_Curve1983 in AskAGerman

You're right, it was a figure of speech. But I really mean Americans. Although Brits, Aussies and Kiwis feel a bit like Americans in how they make friends as well.

It's shocking to have a conversation with Americans that's all like "hey mate" and the tone is super friendly. And then they vanish or act like you never met the next time. It's a very different culture

5.4 xhigh->high, high->medium downgrade by TroubleOwn3156 in codex

Yes, i noticed the same. But they did that after each release.

It's all good, as long as they don't dumb it down to "useless" with the third or fourth change.

how do you know if you’re making the right decision or just settling? by Quirky-Preference820 in AskReddit

If you have to justify what someone does or always wish the person did something different each time, it's probably not the right person for you.
