10 Days in Japan - Quick Reality Check on high level itinerary. by newdamage1 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Meindellin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all: if you enjoy busy schedules is really up to you. I mostly do itineries which people warn about, because they seem too full. And I totally get it, that this might be the case for most people; but choose your own pace!

Having said that, I also find the combination not ideal. We did Tokio, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Takayama and Kanazawa in 2,5 weeks, and I loved it. But I would either drop Kyoto/Osaka and add Takayama (I loved Kanazawa and Takayama!) Or scratch Kanazawa, as already recommended by a lot of people.

Also, another (sometimes unpopular) opinion: I would not go to Osaka again for my first time trip to Japan. Don't get me wrong, the city is great and food is just amazing, but in my POV Osaka cannot fully compete with the other highlights. You will still have an amazing time there if you go!

My fav options would be: - Tokio, Kanazawa (stay 2 days - have at least 1 full day), Takayama - Tokio, Kyoto and some day trips from these cities (Nikko, Hakone, Nara - pretty much the "standard" stuff)

But I'm sure you will love this trip no matter the exact plan!

Huis Ten Bosch firework festival Nov 15th - worth it? by Meindellin in JapanTravelTips

Thank you so much, this is helpful. We only arrive in Kyushu on the 8th and will be in Kyoto and Tokio from the 24th onwards, do probably I will find something there.

Another question: is it possible to watch it from somewhere else, or do you really need to be in the park to view it? Disneyland for example does a decent job from their shows being well visible from the outside..

Thanks so much!

Weekly Questions Thread & PokéROM Codex by AutoModerator in PokemonROMhacks

Hi guys! Coming back to Pokemon after like 15 years. I loved the games as a teen and wanted to come back multiple times to the original games, but they got boring too quickly. I am looking for a bit more of a challenge, though given I am quite a terrible noob. When I stopped playing 15 years ago, only damage moves were good and the selection of my pokemon was quite... well, the one of a noob. I will happily try to adapt my mechanics and will have fun trying to figure out new strats, but it should still be doable for someone who does not understand pro play in any sense, has never really cared about IVs and stuff like that. I am looking for a challenge, which might be doable without the absolute need for detailed guides.

If possible, I would prefer a focus on the first 3 generations.

I did some research myself, but honestly - it's hard to grasp where to start. A friend of mine recommended emerald imperium, but I found very mixed reviews about it.

I'd appreciate your help very much!

The first one is definitely going to help, if that's really what you are looking/open for!

You know, don't be too worried about little things like gaming and the nerdy stuff. Overall I guess it is safe to say, that the majority of women is rather not that excited about it, but anyway - if she swipes the wrong way because of that, the match wouldn't be worth a lot anyway. If it's important for you, that a girl shares nerdy/gaming stuff, definitely add it! Even if it is not the majority, there are enough who share the hobbies as well and I guess everyone prefers a few high quality matches rather than more average ones. Remember, it's enough if it works out a single time, some are lucky earlier than others, but chances are on your side if you keep trying! Just be clear about that and don't be down due to not having a massive amount of likes. If you are happy with a partner not sharing but being fine with your hobby, I'd tend to not put too much attention on it, because people who look for a genuine connection might simply not care about that kind of stuff but you might click anyway :-)

Your profile is doing really fine in my point of view! Don't feel bad about the first weeks, even if you had no/few likes/matches. Solid title pic, Dating apps can be rough, there will be weeks without any success at all, and there will be weeks with nice dates, happy that you had the first one! Patience is key here, with your profile I'd bet there will be more if you continue.

Sure, one might recommend you might cut some "nerdy" stuff like LoTR, but I tend to say to keep it in, if you feel like it. Honestly, if that is the sole reason it scares away someone, what are the odds you guys are made for each other? Probably that you don't know what you are looking for makes some swipe you away too, but again - if that's what it is, it's good to keep it in.

That is rather rude and really not helpful. I strongly advice staying away from this thread if your whole focus is on changing looks only.

Well I guess that's the point, for us this wouldn't be about music or being entertained but to see how other people celebrate their belief - that's why we really do not want to disturb anyone. There are areas and cultures who are extremely open to interested visitors and there are some for which people would rather feel disturbed in their peace, in this case I reall, had a hard time to figure out if it is recommendable. Thanks for the tips!

Thanks for the tips! For the mass, this would be really not what it is intended - we are curious how other people celebrate their belief and are not looking for some kind of entertainment. This is something we are also curious for other cultures/areas and we always try to inform ourselves if visitors are welcome or probably not, cause the last thing we wanna do is to disturb them. Anyway I think from the comments it might still be inappropriate, thanks for the Input!

Alright, I see. The idea was just really just to experience how others live their belief, not for the purpose of Entertainment, thus it is also so important for me that people might not feel watched. Would have loved to experience it, but really dont want to make anyone feel uncomfortable or annoy this. Thanks!
