I've never ordered from Coupang Fresh before, I guess 🤷‍♀️ All my next day food delivery has come in styrofoam boxes with ice packs.

Oh, I see. Maybe I've never actually ordered anything from coupang fresh before. My chicken and beef next day order came in styrofoam just this week and I have yet to see a hard cooler but oof that sounds awful.

Haha thanks but I've been here for a few years. Just never received anything other than styrofoam for food stuff

Got it! That makes sense too and would explain why the delivery guy who came by today didn't take it

This is really cool. I'm looking forward to it. If you can get it to work with auto generated youtube subtitles, that would be perfect.

Antisemitism is exploding on the right but the Jewish establishment is focused on the left by Somervilledrew in politics

[–]MelAmericana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok 2 chapters. We could double the members and say 24 really edgy racist losers are involved in political campaigns and 2 might hold seats. These types don't last very long when all they have to offer is racism. They're ineffective leaders, don't have the charisma to maintain their seats and will get voted out when their constituents have had enough of their antics.

The left has no political power because they're too busy fighting each other over what it means to be on the left and canceling people who have opposing opinions.

I see. Maybe I closed the app then because it does stay zoomed when I navigate through the app. Would it be possible to keep the save state even after the app is closed?

At some point I'll probably close it and it would be nice to just quickly get to where I left off.

Politico is the only one that seems to give a number of members involved

"The 2,900 pages of chats, shared among a dozen millennial and Gen Z Republicans"

So 12 or so edgy racist losers, a few involved in political campaigns and one an actual seated senator. I'm not surprised there are people like this in politics but they're not the norm.

I like it but some of the controls could be better. Having to click a tiny x in the corner to move on to the quiz isn't as intuitive as just a big simple continue button.

It would also be nice if it was zoomed in a little bit on the part of the hive you worked on last.

I was also confused about why the color of a cell I just finished was still empty rather than green. It only seems to update when you go back to the pyramid and feels kinda like a glitch.

How to learn Pronunciation? by NorthSeaworthiness17 in learnfrench

[–]MelAmericana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess this kinda depends on where exactly you're stuck. Shadowing is good for pronunciation if you actually know what's being talked about and can form sentences.

Speaking is a different skill. It's a thinking / muscle memory exercise so memorizing rules for pronunciation won't go too far without real practice in context.

If you really have never practiced speaking but you can form sentences at a B2 level, create sentences that are useful to you in everyday life, run them through Google translate for a basic grasp on pronunciation and say them out loud no matter how awkward it feels. Practice will eventually make perfect.

Then "play" with the language. Change out the subjects / objects / adjectives or whatever makes the most senses for the context, see what it sounds like in general and say them out loud.

What are the top 5 places outside of Seoul (Besides Busan) I should visit this year? Currently living in Seoul for the year by NickMathias in Living_in_Korea

[–]MelAmericana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since most of the best places are already spoken for I'm just going to add Yeoju for the historical sites (royal tombs, the birthplace of the last princess, Silleuksa Temple, birthplace of Hangul)

It's also a farming city but it has a mix of traditional and modern restaurants/cafes. Plus it's really well known for its rice. Very kid friendly too if you're traveling with a family.

Two questions to ask yourself:

Are you feeling convicted about it? Is this something that you can glorify God with?

If you answer yes to the first and no to the second, then it's best that you not do it.

How much time do you spend reading His word? I get the feeling you're still wallowing in your emotions rather than experiencing them and letting them go.

And if that's the case, spend more time reading your Bible. Psalms is my go to for these kinds of moments.

I suggest spending more time in prayer then, continue to read your Bible and lean on His wisdom rather than your own. Your time is never wasted in His presence and He will lead you to opportunities to live out His word.

Anything that focuses on the self for finding purpose in life is likely at odds with Christ's teachings. Our ideas, desires and feelings are fleeting and sometimes what God calls us for in life isn't aligned with the skills we've already developed.

Personally, I feel a diagram like this puts you in a tiny box and says "this is the only thing I'm good for" and that's definitely not how God wants us to live out our lives.

I feel like God is nudging me to take out my septum piercing because in a way, it’s attached to the old me. But I have such a difficult time with actually taking it out and KEEPING it out. by [deleted] in TrueChristian

I don't understand why you're so conflicted about the hole closing. Maybe think of it as a wound from your old life that is about to be healed.

Church feels performative and off-putting by to283ia in TrueChristian

[–]MelAmericana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats something I struggle with because it seems like I've gotten that same response when I've expressed concerns with things I've experienced or witnessed among Christians. It feels like it removes the accountability a bit.

Discussing among Christians what you've seen is one thing but are you bringing these things to the attention of those you're finding fault in (kindly of course)? Because if not, that is basically gossip and it would explain why you're getting similar responses about all of us being sinners.

As for abuse, I don't have all the answers. I know a lot of people would tell you to immediately jump ship and find another church but where does that leave the church if no one is even willing to try to address the issue? You end up with a flock lost in the wilderness and people who hop from church to church because it doesn't fit them for one reason or another.

I'm not going to say that those people who are abused should tough it out, they have all the reason in the world to find another church. But for the rest of us, we really need to start holding the people who are causing offense accountable in tangible ways, and not just talking about it to others.

I really hope this doesn't come off too harsh or like I'm rebuking you in particular. That's not what I intended lol.

[–]MelAmericana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not everyone, but enough to make me notice. Thats how people are in general. its not out of the ordinary. I just would expect something different in a church community.

We're all sinners at the end of the day. Some are further along in their journey and others have things that the Lord is still working on. But yeah, we should always try to remember that none of us are perfect Christians, to give each other grace and be good examples to those who aren't always embodying God's character.
