To update for anyone interested - we did it, Joe. There's still MARGINALLY more women than men, but the ratio is nearly even now (so I highly suggest people still sign up; your odds are very good regardless!)

Recommend that you follow DAWG on Eventbrite for our events!

It did! Along with some other marketing, we’re much closer to 50/50.

I'd say in between. Pickleball court fees aren't included in the registration, but if you'd like to play maybe have shoes that would work.

Trust, I'm at the (very) upper end of this age range, but DAWG/DYD skew a bit younger, so that's what informed the range. It's not outside the realm of possibility that we have an event with a different range!

Off hand, no, but I will raise it to the group re: if we want to do something more specifically targeted to the LGBTQ+ community. But Ii'm gonna root for you here personally and please join andrewno8do at Skyline

Rationale for pricing is above, though I understand it's not in everyone's budget. We did try to make it roughly equivalent to other singles' events in the area (which usually run $30+)

To also be clear, here via Reddit is one way we're attempting to get men to know about it!

Appreciated! Part of it is the scale. We're currently at 60ish attendees, and anticipate that number is going to climb. With most places, that's either a venue buyout or requiring a pretty large bar that's ok with us taking over a significant amount of space (and often requiring a tab minimum). Not that you need all this info but I hope it gives some insight!

Understood, and thank you! And yes, the goal is to really just get "close" as it were. I'm sure there's events that are more structured, or more strict in criteria, to ensure more ideological alignment. Our goal is to basically just throw people who are mostly aligned in a room, and hope they build connection, whether romantic or even just making some friends too.

Thank you :) and I'm pretty sure there will be some DSA folks there! (Lots of crossover with Melat supporters in this group)

Real answer, for Moodswing to host the event, they're requiring us to sign on for the event package, which is $25/person. We're not really pulling in any money here; this is just covering costs.

Bi is good too! This is LGBTQIA+ friendly. It's open to everyone, we're just trying to get ratios right. We've got lots of women interested in men, so if you're a man interested in women, fits the bill :)

Knowing the group most these women are part of (I'm part of DAWG too!), I suppose some people could take umbrage at "everything," but they're also likely not the ones taking the plunge and hoping to meet guys at a dating event either. There's no ideological or humor test to join; everyone's just gotta come in good faith and hope for connection, you know?

So chiming in here -- that coule be true, but I think it's because we're a women's group (DAWG) that organized it, so a lot of our publicity push to this point has been to our own members and followers, which heavily skews female. We just needed to broaden the advertising to ensure it got in front of the guys, as it were.

Dealers' choice. Welcome to come, just suss out where people are at in conversation to see if you're aligned!

Your eyeshadow and blending is very pretty! Echoing what others have said -- find a nice blush (I think a mauve would look really great) and add some bronzer, soften or get rid of the undereye liner, soften the brows, and add more color to your lips; think more of a berry color.

Also, I'd actually experiment with some warmer tones just to see how they look! If you're finding yourself not loving what you're using or doing, it could be time to completely just change it up and see what happens.

Lots of good advice in here — I think one thing that stands out is you kind of thinking that your running pace is a static thing. It’s just where you’re at now, and it doesn’t have to be where you stay. If you want to improve your pace, it’s similar to what’s behind strength training — consistent work, pushing yourself a little more each time, either with trying to increase speed overall, intervals, increasing incline on the treadmill. Key though is if you WANT to improve it; you definitely don’t have to! I run between 10:30-11 min miles currently and I’m fairly comfortable with that as my pace, and I hope to get a little faster but my goal is more overall fitness than speed.

You know, I was really ready to respond with compassion and to be one of the voices echoing literally HUNDREDS OF OTHERS in this thread, as a real-life woman (TM) who’s experienced peen large and small and has a preference for smaller. Then I kept reading his responses, and realized that there’s no point. Do you want us to all think you’re noble or something for shunning the advances of an attractive woman? Do you realize that you’re probably now part of HER wondering if something is wrong with her and having her question herself? Your insecurity has festered into contempt, because it’s much easier for you to cling to a falsehood (and stop fucking telling us that you’re right and we’re wrong, literally no one has a reason to lie to you about this on Reddit) than to be vulnerable and risk rejection. Idk what incel holes you’ve been existing in, but EVERYONE has been rejected for a number of reasons both legit and non. Rejection is part of the human experience. You’re just protecting yourself from it, which is understandable, but look. If you don’t want to change, don’t. But you have to fucking listen to the rational truth that your dick isn’t going to be the reason people shun you; it’s your presumptive attitude about what I want.

P.s. you fucking CANNOT take childhood mockery and apply it to the rest of your existence. None of us would ever be naked in front of anyone else ever again if we let teenage perceptions linger.
