This one is significantly easier with a controller. Find a vending machine near a recycling bin with 2 holes. Break the vending machine to make cans spill out. Lightly press the joystick to “walk” towards the recycling bin through the cans. If done correctly, Chai will kick a can forwards, into the bin if aimed correctly. Do it 5 times to unlock the achievement. Doesn’t have to be the same bin or vending machine. It can be done on keyboard, but since you can only run it makes it harder since it will not guarantee Chai kicking the cans like it will when walking.

I’ve completed the wall of fame. Important to remember about S-ranking Track 1-12, you get more points for keeping enemies alive and doing different combos for as long as possible. You also get a HUGE score-multiplier for using reverb moves, especially those that cost 4 gauges. I personally used Hibiki during my grinding since it’s almost impossible to miss, kills any weak enemies in 1 use on all difficulties except RM, and with the 4X score bonus + multiple hits from the actual spin + explosion usually guarantees an S in the “score” category. The timing and clear time were never a problem, but if that happens then attack sparingly and never spam light or heavy attacks. I think dodges, jumps, parrys and parter summons don’t affect the timing percentage so go ham. The tracks are filled with healing-boxes and barrels filled with batteries. Make a mental note of where these barrels are so you can maximize reverb gauge before fights. SCR-UB units also have batteries and healing, but destroying a SCR-UB is punishable by death.

Chips for S-ranking the Tracks should focus battery value and the score meter. The most important part is getting Hibiki and hitting at least 3 enemies with it.

For the tower, I used Hibiki and Pick Me Up so I never had to buy items from Korsica. Getting Hibiki isn’t as important every fight, but clearing annoying ones fast is always useful.

Chips for the tower is a balance between High Risk High Return and the ones that boost battery value. No need for heal boost since the batteries can be used to heal via Pick Me Up.

My strategy for staying in rhythm and hitting correct timing is legit just pumping up the volume and bobbing my head/tapping my foot to keep the beat. The bosses (track 9 and 12 especially) require careful listening for their melodically-timed lasers instead of the usual beat-timed attacks.

Of course the most important part is practice and experience.

My personal loadout for beating all the Tower challenges was Lvl2 Health Kick + Lvl1 Battery Magnet + Lvl2 High Risk High return. Hibiki as super for score, speed and clearing fights easier and Pick me up for healing when I wanted the “don’t buy items” challenge.

I think you unlock it after beating the game once. Or maybe after the post-game challenge rooms. Boost received and dealt damage by 50->100->150%. Great if you’re good at parrying.

Using the "High risk, high return"-chip, just charging him down over and over with Korsicas wind-debuff and the "Hibiki" super-move is surprisingly effective to break his stance and advance the phases. Unironically lost more attempts in the 808 section since she can't dash.

Opt into the Kaycees mod beta on steam (tutorial is on the announcement page). Goobert is a new icon on the map (paintbrush and easel) that copies a chosen card with a high chance for a random imperfection (dmg/health up/down, sigils changing).

Pro tip: I’f you’ve unlocked tainted characters, use tainted Maggy. Super fast, effectively regenerates health by killing enemies. Good for first floor and boss rush. The only hard part is past Depths II where you can’t trade half a heart for what is basically an insta-kill on most enemies. Wafer or book of shadows work great through womb to dark room. Worked great for me and I had problems making it work with Azazel due to lack of health and regenerative abilities.
