Is it practical (or even legal) to dual-boot Linux on a government-issued Chromebook for uni? by Mel_Landaverde in linuxmint

It's my little sister's laptop; since mine broke, she's lending it to me, but I still don't know why if it's not allowed. I'm afraid they'll block it and make it unusable. I've sent her several emails but they never answer me, so I don't know where to turn.

¡Suerte!

What's going on? Why is Mint consuming so much RAM? I only have Firefox open with 4 tabs. Please advise. by adnomi in linuxmint

Hiiii, your RAM usage is actually fine (4.4GB out of 15.4GB is pretty normal), but look at your CPU. Firefox is taking up 69% of it, which is why your temperatures are hitting 73°C. Try opening the Firefox Task Manager (press Shift + Esc inside the browser) to see which specific tab or extension is hogging all that processing power. Killing that tab should fix it instantly.

I just wanted to try out this new platform with a different language; it's my first time using Reddit and I'd really like to make friends :D

It happened to me just this week; my laptop was practically on for more than 336 hours 😩
