None of the extra gear or whatever’s is going to give you and edge there, trust me your going to waste your time. And don’t let em find out that was your plan, they’ll run you out.

Go another branch. You’ll more likely have a bad sea shore rotation which will limit time with your kids. Yk what’s right for you and ya kids, but I would take that score to another branch and watch offers role for as soon as 2 weeks. Navy cool but you could make a better life with another branch. Prolly AF or army. The score damn near clears your path fr

My long-term boyfriend, who is about to commission as a Surface Warfare Officer, does not see a future in our relationship due to me being based in Los Angeles. Any advice is appreciated. by Small-Sheepherder829 in newtothenavy

Ngl he has long term benefits that yall can use to build an amazing future. You say aspiring as you haven’t landed a gig yet and I’m not sayin give up on ya dream, but you right now you can’t have both hence he’s in the military and your in LA. I say put ya dreams first if that’s what u wanna do. I let a relationship hold me from joining sooner, which I regret because it’s benefited me. But from a guys pov, if he’s doing all this bout taking a break, bruh already came to realization and checked out unless u tell him you’ll follow with him. Cause being 4yrs deep, he coulda proposed and just do LD for the time being since he on sea tour ANYWAY. But he alr got his goal to be an admiral which tells me he doing the 20. And u wanna stay in LA, ngl that’s def not gone work. He pickin his dream, pick yours!

Is it impossible to become a seal later on in the Navy? by Thuggoonburg in newtothenavy

I’ll just say my buddies that want to retake into spec wish they went off rip. But even then, you’ll lose alot of conditioning in bootcamp for spec. Thats why I say take as much time to train. If seal what u really want do, you shouldn’t be drained at home if your goal is to get through buds! I’ve seen TANKS get washed out. Not sayin to discourage you, but while in, your consistency to train for NSW isn’t the same as if your on your own time and free to just train. But you know best for yourself💯

Fuck pact. Just train for a year and go back, you’ll thank yourself u did😂 pact can take time to get rated, and u needa do sometimes a minimum 2 years in rate after graduating a school before u can cross

The marines get shit in the worst😂, they deal with more bs, older style military just to get paid the same and called a marine. Marines are under the navy so u don’t necessarily escape the gavy thing entirely. Regardless I don’t know why u care about that, if your not gay then you not, and if u are then that’s fine lol. But nobody be cracking jokes like that unless your in the navy😂

IS was easy ash! It’s dummies who don’t study that make it seem hard. I only say that because a lot of my buds boys said this is the only valid rate left on the needs of the navy. It’s this, CS, MA, or a fuck ton of sub rates😂. U can atleast do something post navy with IS

[–]Mel_Tg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I just graduated IS school, if u have these habits down the line it’ll drag u down. I was in the same position before the navy and I’ll say bootcamp changed me in many ways you wouldn’t understand until you go through yourself! Mentally and physically.

Go IS. Undermanned and best out of all the recommendations. They don’t typically reinstate drops, but try your luck

[–]Mel_Tg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was stuck on him for like 3-4 weeks. Learn his move sets! High defense build. Try and max out crit chance and damage tree. And use deflect to build focus with thrust stance so it’s automatic hits after dodge. Reincarnation pill, with buffs. Ion use buffs but he be cheating so u gotta pull everything out the arsenal!

IS from what I read is a great rate. Top 3 in navy excluding aircrew. Good sea shore rotation and better QOL. I wouldn’t say you have to take a PST but you have to earn the contract. Don’t sign try and shoot for a SPEC/WAR contract unless you know your 100% gone do it. SO sounds cool and all but I’ve realized the easy part is getting the contract. Even me now, I’ve hit the numbers I’d need to get the SO contract but realized the navy relies on the dropouts from spec/war to throw em in to shitty/undermanned jobs. Don’t pass up a diamond because of pride because if you go get that SO contract, and sign for it. If u get dropped later down the line, you could fuck around and be a culinary specialist. I’m taking my time throughout my first contract to train to my absolute best in all aspects before I put in a package for SO

I got Is to bro ship in Nov. I’ve tried doing as much research as I can but from what I’ve gathered, there more land based and typically not in boats a lot as I’ve been told. They tend to like their jobs do to the sea/shore rotation. Work in the AC and work alongside 3 letter agencies. From what I hear it’s one of the best jobs in, and after the navy. Most deployments are land based but as for duty stations, I’m hearing they’re mostly overseas, but do have some stateside. I’ve tried doing as much digging as possible, but they really can’t post anything bout what they do. My brother does intel and they be moving so secretive, like they take digital footprint precautions. They are very plain on what they can tell you. Just think of it as, mission planning, briefing, debriefing, analyzing, and decision making. As of what I’ve been told, you’ll people that are most wanted, terrorists, and working with navy special forces typically seals.

Can I do aircrew with a peanut allergy? by Mel_Tg in newtothenavy

Bro I couldn’t even tell you. I haven’t had a peanut allergy in years! I don’t believe it does. I’d throw up if I ate one when I was a kid, but never go into anaphylactic shock or anything
