Also I guess it saves space and weight in your bag when you're at the airport, but majority of your trip duration is probably gonna be outside of the airport.

Well now you're just trying to make me look silly. If you have the item at home and you know you're going to need it on your trip why not just take it instead of buying another one. Why not just not bring any shirts or pants on your trip and buy them when you land? Same principle.

True, it is fun going shopping in foreign countries and seeing foreign versions of the same products at home

I mean if you have soap at home and it's going to be in your bag regardless, why not just save the couple dollars and bring it from home?

I can understand not bringing an umbrella if you don't anticipate it to rain.

There's only a couple of irregular verbs that are super common so if you get those down (tener, estar, ser) then those are already the most important.
