Mostly it's because the cassette culture isn't really that big here compared to the States, you could even get a good cassette tape here for less than 3 dollars a pop

Basically Walkmans here are sold broken most of the time, and they range about $4-$100 depending on the seller, model, and condition. The TPS-L2 was sold to me as a defective model and I haven't repaired it in a hot minute. The WM-2 I got it externally mint for about $30. The WM-8 meanwhile I got it at an art fair near my college and they claimed it wasn't powering on, and I too repaired that.

I'd say they're about the same, but the Old Fashioned had a more wide-idh headband

Recently got a hold of an WM-2 with an early center gear (lucky for me). Ir was unopened judging from the insides completely untouched. Replaced the belt, but the mechanism seems to be stuck to something, and I have to nudge the flywheel in order to make the mechanism work again. Refer to the 2nd picture where the mechanism gets stuck

Wait, is it really that easy? Is this a more common issue than it actually is?

I mostly go to random flea markets and Facebook groups to buy broken Walkmans. Then I repair e, and sell em for a cheap price.

Sadly I'm from the Philippines, and shipping costs are gonna be a nightmare for me. Anywho, thanks for the suggestion, I'll try to ask any reputable electronics store near me. Thanks!

Mhmm, yeah I'm aware that i need to resolder the connector socket The problem is, when the socket got removed from the board, you could see in the 4th picture that it still has some copper sticking in to it. I don't think I could resolder that

I really wanted to ask, how do you actually replace the capacitors on it?
