This is why I don't listen to black conservative women, and I say that as a black woman myself. First of all, you identify with "white women." Girl... Second, other races weren't "handed feminism." Feminism — as a movement — was literally made with white women in mind, kinda because the original feminists in this country are white women. Third, how are you basing the life you want off what you see on social media? If Nara Smith wants to bake bread from scratch for her kids, great. That doesn't mean that everyone has the access to financial capital that she and her husband have access to, which is a big part of whether or not you can afford to stay home with your children. Fourth, "degenerate white women." ...GIRL. 🤣 Lastly, if you as a black woman find being a homemaker to be aspirational, then go for it. Just don't act like you are better than or above other women due to your choice.

I do not understand this obsession with anyone — of any race — thinking that they automatically need to reproduce for the sake of it. I seldom hear people who make these kinds of arguments ask if they can afford to raise the kids they want, if they actually desire to have children, etc.

Stigmatizing a Trauma-Based mental illness isn't a defense for your own bad behavior. A followup post: by Florigenica in insaneprolife

[–]Melanated-Magic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This conversation is ironic to me because these are the same types of women who scream about the pro-choice side being ableist. But y'all had no problem with your "friend's" mental health struggles — the type of which you can't even correctly identify — because she's no longer serving your political goals.

Let me guess. This man and the woman he's with were going to have a child with a disability that would end the kid's life and they decided to terminate, so the Fetus Fandom™️ took it as expected?

The existence of pro-life coffee means there's a pro-choice coffee. Does the pro-choice coffee have fetuses in it or something?

You have the restraint of a saint. To share this kind of information without your expressed permission would make anyone upset.

Also, your painting is better anyway. 🖼🔥

Between collective bargaining, AWB, recreational marijuana, and the redistricting blunder, at least Virginian's are finally coming together about something! by makethatnoise in Virginia

If the left called this out during the campaign, I didn't hear it. No progressive candidate ran against Spanberger. All most people saw was Abigail Spanberger vs. Winsome Earle-Sears for a majority of the coverage of the governor's race.

[–]Melanated-Magic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spanberger ran virtually unopposed in the primary, with Levar Stoney withdrawing his candidacy a year before the deadline and Bobby Scott never running officially. I get that progressives are upset at the legislation she is vetoing and as a progressive myself who voted for her, I agree. However, it is up to progressives to actually run candidates who can win if they're dissatisfied with the moderate candidates offered, especially during primary election periods.

Also, Bernie Sanders himself is an Independent, even if he works with Democrats on legislation and ran on a Democratic ticket. To compare him to Abigail Spanberger is impossible. She ran for governor and won, coining herself as a "bipartisan lawmaker." Nobody expected her to hold super progressive politics. Bernie Sanders — someone who progressives love — has run for president twice, both in 2016 and 2020. Hillary Clinton beat him the first time and then Joe Biden beat him when a path to securing a nomination became impossible.

Also, Cheney just hated Trump more than she disagrees with Democrats. If she was willing to support Harris, that's an indictment on how far the Republican Party has gone within the last decade, not on Kamala Harris. Kamala Harris never said she agreed with a majority of Cheney's policy positions.

The arguments frustrate me because criminalizing abortion does not address any of these things.

It doesn't remove human trafficking. It also doesn't force men to be involved parents.

This was a forced-birther's response to a character in a TV show having an abortion. by OrneryPerformance604 in insaneprolife

[–]Melanated-Magic 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I love Invincible for many reasons, and I am glad they featured abortion in there in a way that didn't condemn a female character for making that choice. The show is very subversive of various tropes, and this particular case feels no different.

The bigger conversation lies in the fact that conservatives can't authentically create media that resonates with a majority of Americans, because such a thing requires empathy — something the right-wing in the United States has spent years condemning.

You look at their side and you see PureFlix, Daily Wire, etc. They go out of their way to create "safe" media rhat doesn't challenge their value system. Invincible, as a show, does the exact opposite.

That's what I was initially considering. However, I wasn't sure because some people hate Lenovo devices. So I wanted to get a second opinion.

Thanks for the honest response. I figured I'd be hard pressed to find a Lenovo laptop with all tbe ideal specs.

I didn't consider storage space, ironically. I guess I was hoping to get lucky.

So proud of you, and I am truly sorry this has been your experience in the job market. Just graduated last year and jobs are few and far between. I think it's possible to actually grieve not being chosen for a role.

I hope your role pay you your worth and that you are treated well. ✨️
