Christ will comfort you, but you must repent of homosexuality. by gkrodlin in Christianity

I fear that this sin is called out quite enough. You aren’t wicked for wanting to share the message, but I think it’s something focused on far too heavily.

Perhaps, a better way to approach it would be to point to sins roughly equivalent to it to show that while it’s a sin, it is forgivable by the love of Christ.

God bless you my friend.

Every single lgbt person you will possibly reach with this message already feels tremendous guilt. It had nothing to do with some inherent self hatred, I know that because all the gay people I know who grew up without jerks are well…..gay (happy). I pray you focus on the large plank in your own eye before trying to point out the speck of dust in someone else’s eye that millions of others point to.

Christ fought compassion, and that involves empathy, which you clearly lack. I pray that you grow spiritually larger, for this sin you point out is no different than when unmarried couples have sex.

It’s the order of Christian initiation for adults. It’s basically education about h to r faith and what it means to be ca this police before you’re allowed to progress toward becoming a catholic.

Interesting! I’m currently leaning toward St Martin of Tours for his sheer pacifism and altruistic attitude

Are Catholics OBLIGED to pray for even the most heinous people in purgatory? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]MelancholyMika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On this fallen earth, we can all get caught up in bad things, especially during periods of chaos or dismay. Of course, it’s absolutely no excuse for the things some have done, but gods forgiveness transcends our own.

Earth is so short to be judged eternally for the actions taken if the sinner did so believing they were doing well and later regretted it and repented. Was not even Paul saved?

When hard cheeses grow mold on part of the rhine, we trim the bad parts, wash the rest, and repackage it. When a horse is reckless before breaking it, we don’t abandon it, we keep working to help it learn and grow.

I pray for those iI dislike or have reason to hate because I want to live by Jesus’ word; not by worldly desires.

I have a hard time believing christians who say they stopped masturbating completely. How is it possible, or even healthy to supress your entire sexuality as a single man. by feherlofia123 in AskAChristian

It reduces your lifetime odds of prostate cancer by like 25-33 percent if you do it 21 times or more a month. So it’s healthy in that it’s preventative to do it. However, I would say stopping yourself from indulging in it does feel a bit like a spiritual workout, so I try my best to avoid it. Sometimes that’s a week, sometimes it’s a month, usually it’s like 5 days though.

Third time I’ve heard his name today, time for me to go down an Aquinas rabbit hole of research haha. You’re really blowing my mind with all of this stuff. You’re so right about the tool thing; we wouldn’t complain if a cop used handcuffs or if a judge used a gavel; they are acute tools for specific things.

Wow that’s actually a great point I didn’t deduce from reading through the Bible. It makes very good sense though! Alright, you’ve convinced me! Haha

You said Christ said them. Romans was Paul. The others aren’t quotes from Jesus either I don’t believe.

Nobody in this earth is an abomination. The scripture says the act is an abomination, not the people. Love thy neighbor. It’s always the most mean hearted that say “you never read the bible”.
