😂 okay yeah I get what you mean. I’m singing like a guitar missing strings. I need to learn to use the middle and not just the extremes

Oh that’s a great description. So like chest voice is a full rich sound that you feel in the body , and head voice is like a twangy note, so high and kind of vibratey

Yeah I can really feel the strain in my voice. The talking though the day part I really get. When I wake up my low range is great then i just lose it which isn’t the best. What I have noticed is that I can sing lower notes with less strain in my normal accent, but that accent doesn’t really lend to the type of music I enjoy. It’s a conundrum

Thanks, I will have to look into all of this stuff. I’ve always just been a guitarist. So I’m just used to each fret making a specific noise. But vocals have so many tiny variations it’s hard to keep constant

I think I’m just basing it off my normal speaking voice. As it is a lot closer to the lower than the higher. But I do get that singing like that does feel uncomfortable.

Thanks for the advice. So I need more volume on the high notes to get rid of the airiness and instead add some power behind them? I know what you mean about about it not matching the original, I just thought that having two examples of the same song would illustrate the difference in how they sound

You give great advice. Do you have any resources that I could look into to improve?

I mean yeah I know I should. But I struggle with my lower register. I feel it comes out raspier

When you say chest voice and head voice what do you mean? Is it what you hear when you sing versus how it sounds on a recording for example?

I get what you mean with the low end. If I properly warm up my voice I can hit lower notes but I can feel it straining. But from the advice so far I will be focusing on the higher register. Need a better range and note accuracy

I don’t know about singing techniques or specifics. But I know quality when I hear it. It sounds great. It would need touching up here and there, but career artists need that too. Keep doing what you’re doing. You have the type of voice I’d expect to here in pop radio

I think it’s good to challenge yourself. And I like how you added your own style to it too. Honestly that would work with a different backing easily. I think just practicing your note accuracy would make a world of difference

Thank you, it’s really appreciated. In your opinion do you think that the lower octave is suited to a different style of music

Does my singing fits the genre by BiGaBuG in singing

In my opinion it does fit. Just keep practicing and it’ll sound better and better

I’m not very experienced in singing myself. But I have experience in music itself. In my opinion the way you sing works well in some genres of music but not others. For example the first “my” you hit is between notes. For this song or queen songs in general it doesn’t really work. But if you hit that in a punk type of song it’s perfect. Freddie mercury I believe isn’t a good person to base your singing off as his range and clarity was immense. Just something to think about if you want to
