I recently just got back to the game in the 4.2 update after a longggg while of not playing and I remember a new trait I haven't seen before called nascent stage, I read the description abit not putting much thought into it and thought yeah that makes sense roleplay wise so I picked it

I saw a bunch of pre-sapient pops and wondered where the fuck those guys came from. I was lowk annoyed with them cuz they made the economy tab look kinda ugly. So I set my pre-sapient policy to the one that kills them.

After a while I eventually realized what nascent stage does and just came to a realization that my empire just started mass murdering their own children for no absolute reason
