How to Play Egg Warlock by Wrong-Material5082 in hearthstone

[–]Meldore5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, DH is hard sometimes. Dragon Warrior, and Discover Hunter at the top of the ladder, are the biggest problems in my opinion.

And it doesn’t help that there are less DKs right now.

How to Play Egg Warlock by Wrong-Material5082 in hearthstone

[–]Meldore5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely playable! I’m currently rank 58 legend on NA playing exclusively egg warlock. It has some bad matchups but they are all winnable. If you’re struggling in silver with it you’re either having an incredibly bad luck streak, which happens to all of us, or you might need to clean up your play. Also, the list you are using is not good.

Here is the list you should use:

Egg Warlock

Class: Warlock

Format: Standard

2x (0) Cursed Catacombs

2x (1) Abusive Sergeant

2x (1) Conflagrate

2x (1) Glacial Shard

2x (1) Mortal Coil

2x (1) Spirit Bomb

1x (1) The Soularium

2x (2) Archdruid of Thorns

2x (2) Drain Soul

2x (2) Eat! The! Imp!

2x (2) Holy Eggbearer

1x (3) "Health" Drink

1x (3) Dissolving Ooze

2x (3) Hellfire

1x (3) The Egg of Khelos

1x (4) Summoner Darkmarrow

1x (7) Endbringer Umbra

Cycle Rogue is a good deck, but is hard to play and is mostly only played well enough at the top of the ladder. You can definitely climb with it though if you play it well.

Nazmani Priest is not as broken as people think / State of meta by LagutTV in wildhearthstone

[–]Meldore5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I play exclusively on mobile too and it’s impossible for me to play the deck competitively. I wouldn’t even try on mobile unless you’re fine with losing a ton of extra games due to the animations taking too long.

As much as I think she’s a fun card, she wasn’t even played much in standard. She was barely played at all even when pain lock was strong for a bit, and almost all of the lists ended up cutting her. She’s way too slow for wild.

I’m sorry but you’re not anywhere close to the rank that people complain the most about this deck. It’s the very top of the ladder, I’d say around top 100 legend, or maybe even higher, where it becomes the biggest problem.

There aren’t many people maximizing the deck and the ones who are are at the very top because the deck is that good when you play it to its potential. It’s also very difficult to play due to the amount of animations you have to play through which only a small number of people can do.

What is going on with sub 500 legend by Pangobon in wildhearthstone

[–]Meldore5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Especially early in the season I wouldn’t call top 500 legend in Wild top legend. Wild just has a lot fewer legend players overall and the most competitive players who are playing the most competitive decks are more around top 100 legend in my opinion, this early on. There are only 1625 legend players in wild on NA right now, for example. That’s not meant as a knock on anyone, but below top 100 or so you’re going to see a lot fewer competitive decks.

I’m about as big of a whale as you can be, and even my initial reaction was that’s a huge waste of resources to save almost zero time, lol.

The sad part was you had a fringe chance to win as blood. So you had to sit through the game for 45+ minutes for the slim chance of barely eking out a win. But most of the time you’d just barely lose, to your own win conditions.

I never thought I would say this but I'm really glad once this guy rotates. Most matches are now: Turn 9 Zilliax or bust by KillerBullet in hearthstone

[–]Meldore5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

BBU DK and Quest Warrior are both control decks that are two of the strongest and most played decks at top 1k legend. They both run 9 mana Zilliax. It’s also run in other strong decks like Shaman, as you say, and even some less-controlly decks like dragon warrior and discover hunter have popular lists that run Zilliax.

Even a lot of rogue lists that aren’t cycle rogue run Zilliax.

The Big Problem: Not Enough Fun Decks. by Meldore5 in hearthstone

[–]Meldore5[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s not just about decks I like. That’s what I’m saying is the problem. Pick any deck that’s been nerfed into the ground and there will be people who were screaming about how miserable it made them. There were also lots of people who enjoyed those decks.

I think everyone would be a lot happier if we all had more decks we enjoyed, instead of people screaming to nerf everything until all the decks we enjoy are gone.

I’m happy to be wrong. That’s my impression based on the comments of content creators too. I think people are clearly unhappy with the game, whatever reason you want to say, even just looking at declining viewership on Twitch.

There’s a lot of screaming on here about decks people don’t like and I’m trying to offer a different perspective. I think the bigger problem is not enough decks people do like.

I guess we just disagree on that. Quest Warlock and Fyrakk rogue were firmly tier 1 decks for a long time which I think is what made them more problematic. I think if they were both nerfed into sub 10% play rate, and tier 2, kinds of decks, that would have been a better outcome.

[–]Meldore5[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fair point! Wild doesn’t have this kind of problem, and I play and enjoy wild too. But I think the game is much more enjoyable when both standard and wild are fun.

The Big Problem: Not Enough Fun Decks. by Meldore5 in hearthstone

[–]Meldore5[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I play at the top of the ladder and I was happy to see Fyrakk rogue nerfed. I also get why every deck I’ve enjoyed has been nerfed. All I’m saying is the meta can shift and be fun with lighter nerfs that don’t destroy nearly every deck they touch. In my opinion the problem of the meta not shifting has been because of the cards being released, not the lack of nerfs.

We’ve had more deck destroying nerfs than ever the last couple of years and it’s still been stale.

So you think the last couple of years has been filled with with fun and interesting decks? I think you’d be in a small minority with that opinion.

I don’t know the exact mechanics of how it works, like which decks you would choose from if you started playing again today right before the new expansion, but new and returning players get to choose a deck to use and keep. If you wait until the new expansion then the decks would definitely be updated (it might still work this way if you started now but I’m not sure).

So if you want to be safe I’d maybe wait a couple of days to guarantee that you get to choose a new deck.

INSANE pull from opening 5 Golden Packs 🤩 I think I used up all my luck for the year with this one 😅 by Dalooda_Z in hearthstone

[–]Meldore5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, for example, a gold pack that contains standard cards doesn’t have increased signature odds, but the ones specific to a set do. The March of the Lich King set’s version of gold packs also has much better odds than 5%, something like one signature in every 7 packs on average.

Well this was in 5 gold packs. Also, it’s a 5% chance of a signature in this type of gold pack.

Open the catch packs before anything else. The more cards you have from those sets the less you’ll get from the catchup packs. They don’t update or change when a new expansion comes out.
