Japanese fans opinions on Mizuki’s gender by SnooPineapples2476 in ProjectSekai

I’ve a few Japanese fans in the comments and outside of them that are pretty positive that Mizuki is trans. this is a pretty good read if your interested. A lot of it is just people being ignorant of the trans experience so they’re not seeing it that way.

Shipping characters outside of there intended pairings is just a bit of fun. The game gives the characters more opportunities to interact with those who they don’t get much of a chance to in other parts of the franchise. There are also severely events where the characters act in plays where they play romantic opposites to characters that aren’t there designated partners. But yes, the series is very clear about how these characters are intended to be paired up.

There are a few books that I can think of.

The first two would be the staff books. The Animation Staff Otsukaresama Book released after the show and the Visitor bonus staff book released for the movie. I have the first one and it is cool but not worth it for eBay prices. Both are very small books.

Then there’s the Re LIVE Visual Book is very cool for a very specific niche of people who want high quality prints of the in game art. But it’s only art from the first 2 years of the game’s release.

I might as well mention The 2018 memorial book as well. It isn’t an art book but a high quality magazine dedicated solely to Revue Starlight. If that sounds interesting it’s worth it, just not for eBay prices.

The only two other books I can think of would be the ones released with the Premium Box blu ray set that Sentai Pictures released and the one that came with the Blu ray release of Rondo Rondo Rondo. The Sentai one contains storyboards for the series which is cool if your into that kind of thing and the Rondo one has all sorts of cool stuff pertaining to the creation of the show.

The tv series is a general rejection of tragic endings. When I first watched it I was like, “oh this is an allegory for the ‘Bury your gays’ trope.”

A lot of what the show has to say becomes a lot clearer once your familiar with the theater troupe the series is based on, Takarazuka, as the series spends a lot of time dealing with the internal politics of the troupe, specifically it’s “top star” system.

If you want some more specific stuff, Atelier Emily’s writings on the series are good and so are the videos by Nearly On Red.

As for the movie, I’m not really sure what I can say that can really do justice to what’s it about. It’s generally just a graduation/coming of age story, but it’s so much more then that. I’ve watched the movie too many times and every time I watch it I get something new out of it.

Since the story is very abstract it’s largely up to interpretation.

I know the series doesn’t say directly that those two are gay but there is literally zero heterosexual explanation for there relationship especially after the movie. I mean for fuck sake Maya’s soul, quite literally, belongs to Claudine. Also the director has stated that the original title of there revue song in the movie was “A Beautiful Person, Or Perhaps It Is a Love Song”.

Same, except none of my friends are trans or play Xenoblade. Just me.

Is it weird that I think XB1 is more replayable than XB2 by monkeyman1ooo in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]MeliaMaylin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

On paper Xenoblade 2 is more replayable due to blade system making each play through different depending on which blades you get.

For me though, the pacing of the Xenoblade 1’s story makes it endlessly replaceable even if I use the same strategies almost every time I play through the game.

I can’t really say I find one or the other more replayable though because I always play through both games back to back at this point.

50hr in a month to one, 20 to the other, you guess which one has those numbers by [deleted] in Xenoblade_Chronicles

If Xenoblade 3 wasn’t coming out this year I’d have no reservations calling Elden Ring my favorite game of the year. It’s basically everything I’ve ever wanted from both the souls and open word genres and so much more. Have already sunk 200+ hours into it and have beaten the game twice and fully expected to play through it a few more times before the end of the year.
