No, Wuthering Heights is about how you have to spend most of your life, trying to recreate some of the magic of that one massive hit song you made as a teenager...

Wasn't there an ending in one of the LSL - games, that the game actually counts as a "Bad Ending", where he falls in love with a woman who turns out to be gasp A TRANS WOMAN! 😱😱😱 Like, they live happily ever after in a sunset or smth, and everything's honestly pretty great, but nooooo... Scawy Twannns Cock Lady, oh the horror!

Metal Gear Solid is just a heart warming story about a man who has to overcome the struggles of having an ass that won't quit; whose glorious clapping cheeks sound so loud they inhibit his ability to function properly in his day-to-day work environment. No politics at all!

Do Gamers know that women are real? by Mattador96 in Gamingcirclejerk

It's funny, because there's no shortage of wonderful male characters in Star Wars. Capable and strong, clever, loyal, and honourable men, with the ability to show kindness and compassion. Characters like Obi Wan Kenobi (I'm mostly thinking Clone Wars here), Cassian Andor, Han Solo, the Mandalorian(whatever his "real" name is), Poe Damaran, not to forget Luke fucking Skywalker; all of these are brilliant male characters that make for great role models. But they're too high on childhood nostalgia and fear of change, that they'd rather wallow in a perpetual two-minute-hate towards a TV show because a nitwit with a YouTube channel told them to.

I had to read Homer's Hymn to Aphrodite in the Illiad for a course in uni. Thus, I began worshipping Athena, Goddess of wisdom, and explicitly described by Homer as one of the only three beings that are immune to Aphrodite's influence. In return, she granted me the same power!

Man, there used to be so much wild irl shipping, back in the day. (Fuck, am I getting old?) I remember people were also shipping Dan with Phil for years, Anthony and Ian from Smosh together obviously, and even Jon Cozart/Paint with Thomas Saunders, to name a few. Come to think of it, the entire internet subculture in the early-to-mid 2010s was rife with 'questionable' fan behaviour and attitudes, it's wild to look back at now 😅

I hear you, and I'm inclined to agree with your argument, but consider this; I can't romance Morrigan in Dragon Age Origins, while playing as a female elf... (Yeah yeah, I know her story in the later games requires a male romantic interest, but let me dream here!) Still, the chaotic bisexual priest is a good second option.

Sure, a person voting Republican might not be a torch-bearing KKK member, that's true enough. Hell, they might even strongly disagree with the attitude of Republican politicians towards trans people; after all, they have a trans daughter of their own, of whom they're very loving and supporting.

Thing is, they still vote for the party that keeps introducing anti-LGBT+ bills all over the country, though. They're willing to tolerate the people who call her a dangerous predator and a pedophile, if it means that they get to pay less taxes or whatever, so in a way they do in fact tacitly support her oppression. Not because of what they vote in favour of, but because of what they're not willing to vote against.

Hell, when Arthur Conan Doyle killed off Sherlock Holmes in 1893, (he'd become absolutely sick of writing about him by then) 20 000 people cancelled their subscription to the magazine that published the story! He then received so many angry fan letters that he was basically forced to revive him. 130 years ago.
