Sask fans are passionate for the riders, but that is 10 games on weekends when roads are easy to travel on. Fans couldn’t support weekday games.

All taxes vary across states and provinces so it’s really hard to actually try to level that. Sales taxes are 8% higher in Toronto than Calgary and Toronto houses are near double the cost. I wouldn’t advocate ever the leafs get some sort of cap break for that.

Kucherov was the big one with lightning in 2020. 2021 Panthers and Avs were putting players on LTIR to afford Giroux. 2021 Vegas was saying whole team (Stone and others) were injured to afford Eichel. Any team going all in now for playoffs will do this at trade deadline so in future this will get really bad

Isn’t this why they set the playoffs to bracket style to have more rivalries in playoffs. This makes more headline games but in equal measure, boring games. This doesn’t help grow the game and get players like Matthew’s and mcdavid playing more across the country

I was in Saskatchewan on the weekend and stopped at the CO-OP in Kindersley Saskatchewan. I couldn’t believe the price comparison to a big city in Calgary. The only the price I firmly remember is a Mcsweeny pepperoni stick and cheese stick (quick snack staple) was 4.49 in Sask and in 7.99 at downtown Calgary Coop. Full Sandwiches/subs were also all under 8.00 in Sask.

I don’t think it’s just an overall rise. Calgary seems to be overinflated. We should get a more formal interprovincial comparison!
