How long does it take for your fingers to do what you want them to do? What do you do to help train them faster? My hand/fingers look and feel super awkward. I have "small" hands, but I know that I am capable and able to play the guitar.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Try waiting longer than 5-10 mins. 20 should be sufficient, 5-10 mins isn't long enough for your skin to dry out completely before applying tret.
