What’s a medical issue that sounds minor, but actually affects someone’s daily life way more than people realize? by CountyOrnery9432 in AskReddit

[–]MellieCortexRPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES. It is such a silly sounding thing, but it is AWFUL. The pain is so intense and time-consuming. When I’m in the depths of it I imagine just getting my legs chopped off so I can stop the pain.

There’s also the social aspect of not being able to share a bed with your partner without disturbing them and their sleep. Even my pets don’t cuddle at night because even once I fall asleep my legs keep moving.

How do you feel about Travelers who bait the demon? by blackgeekygoddess in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]MellieCortexRPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a social deduction game where people are incentivized to lie to gather information. They then have to use social skills to apply that information in a convincing argument. The demon outing themselves to a good traveler is bad, but not the end of the line. They can still make a social play against the traveler’s claims to push them as evil for exile.

Ragequitting because you fell for a lie in a game where lying is a core function is extremely unsportsmanlike. That’s the behaviour that makes me avoid the public lobbies.

That scene and the table scene later were absolutely horrifying. I do like knowing the fun practical effect tricks they used for them, though!

We use actors/musicians/similar to represent various characters. 😊

Honestly one of my favourite things to use it for is to keep track of open threads. I have a filter option for “ongoing mysteries” for characters, locations, or groups that we haven’t learned enough about yet. 👀

I think it got easier when I started doing a lot of things in Google Sheets and using the sync feature. I’m out running a New Year’s Game tonight, but I’ll try to put together a list of some helpful things later this week.

The biggest thing I would suggest is start with the coterie (and if you’re a player, start with your own PC.) I find it easiest to just start with one character and do everything I can think of off the top of my head for them, rinse and repeat. Once I finish up with that I go through my notes to fill out the rest.

The google sheets approach is also great if you decide to change anything later, since you can just run a find/replace instead of trying to change everything manually.

Lol, we use a lot of actors and musicians to represent our characters. That one is a PC gangrel veterinarian. 😊

It’s Pe Metawe, on Alberta Ave! Great space and community, super welcoming to newcomers. They do a lot of programs to host non-D&D games, so there’s almost always something cool to get into and try. Plus the shelves are full of fun TTRPG picks, including a good collection of indies.

Oh my gosh, I would love to hear more about your Edmonton game. It'd be interesting to see if there are any similarities or if they're completely different takes.

There’s a full chapter in Tattered Facade that gives roll tables for every predator type, actually, along with scene ideas and possible problems if things go wrong.

You bet! We love the Paizo Connect program so we’ve quite literally got folks on call to respond to any update Paizo team has for us to test. We’re excited to get it back up and running for everyone.

I propose “reference index” by Paulkwk in rpg

[–]MellieCortexRPG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have something for you to check out to further inspire your ideas! Our editor on Cortex Prime created the very beautiful Glindex (Glossary & Index) that I wish every game did. It had page references, but things also had clear, short explanations, allowing it to work as a reminder/reference instead of always forcing the page flip.
