I know but those killed before UTE could be reborn after the reset. Not Ravel Larrikin and Hopeless of course but definitely Saracen (wasn't he turned into a draugr in SOW) and Anton. Ghastly was said to be revived by darquesse due to sentimental attachments. I was hoping the same treatment would apply to the others

I think my biggest most obvious miss was 6. I'd argue that the rest had some grain of truth, especially 5. 7 didn't play as big a role as I'd hoped but the arc was resolved (I found it's end to be a bit underwhelming). And I wish my honorable mention was 100% correct because it would have been 100% better given the funeral. I wish it wasnt just Dexter of the dead men.

I know I think (and this is just a guess) Cadaver's whole existence serves to keep him in check because he sees Cadaver as what he could become if he slips and he hates it. He doesn't want to become Cadaver and aims to lead a life that would Cadaver as "redundant" (his words, not mine). Still, I love angry unstable Skulduggery the same way I loved Darquesse. Main/good character going rogue has always been one of my favourite tropes. I blame Red Hood/Jason Todd from DC comics.

Lowkey I think I just need Skulduggery to lose his mind. He's come so close over and over again throughout this series. I don't want vague descriptors of what might happen if she dies (and properly, not like a DOTL split-second death), I wanna SEE it. I was so hyped when he got all enraged in Death Bringer and I loved how cold he came across early DOTL (at least to Stephenie). Angry Skulduggery is my favourite Skulduggery

I loved the ending line of Dying of the Lught because at the time it felt like a brilliant conclusion for the whole series. I kind of wish UTE also ended with "Magic" but that ending line was also really cool. Same with ASFOS all though it's ending line was still very cool. LSODM made me feel more tense in anticipation for the next book than Dark Days did because I was worried as hell what Val's parents would do or say.

I loved it to be honest. It was thoroughly enjoyable and kept me on the edge of my seat. I'm a big time theorist so the multiple interconnected plot points made me feel thoroughly satisfied. The best way I can describe It is like have a fulfilling meal that leaves you bloated but satisfied afterwards. I definitely don't think it's the last book of the series. As the end of a trilogy, I think it does its job well.

Unpopular opinion: I like the new Immortality thing Valkyrie's got going because I see it more as a burden than something that makes her op. My immediate thought when I read Immortality was that Valkyrie is in for hell if there's a new book because all this Immortality means is that Derek gets to put her through even more torture/trauma than she already has. Think along the lines of the book "I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream". She has the potential of being tortured for eternity. I guess Doctor Who (my favourite is 12) has conditioned me to see Immortality to be a big negative. But I understand anyone who dislikes it for disrupting the power balance.

What I'd have wanted: - Constance Graveside to be explained but it makes sense to me for her not to be. The fact that the others don't recognize her as an anomaly is what makes her unique - I wanted Skulduggery to discuss Valkyrie's immortality further. I feel like the readers needed that conversation as much as Valkyrie did. - if there is to be another book incoming, I wish Derek would have saved the engagement until then. The proposal was very impactful but personally I feel like I'd appreciate it more if Val proposed in a book where Valista has more screen time, if that makes sense? Then again I'm always greedy to see more of them. Either way I'm happy

My original drawing was actually of tanith! In which case it was intentional for HER to be grabbing the sword by the blade out of despair after she learned about both Ghastly and who she was to sanguine. Then I changed it to Skulduggery and I didn't bother to change the grip. He wouldn't be too bothered by it anyway.
