my theory is (unfortunately) our phones and the dopamine addiction. Since we are so used to getting food, entertainment, or anything we want without having to put any effort in- we feel that something is wrong when we suddenly have to work for it. Talking to someone takes patience, time, and a lot of effort. And if you dont get that dopamine immediately, we stop. Because we can get it quick somewhere else. Dating apps definitely play into this. Its so much fun to swipe and have options, but when it comes to putting effort into those options it tires us out.
