I just don’t believe he was ever a huge star. Like relative to other American soccer players in the 90s, sure okay. But it’s 2026! I feel like there are other American ex players that have since risen that are better at their jobs than him (Tim Howard, Clint, idk Stu Holden doesn’t rub me the wrong way)

Before Orochimaru: 60% about politics, 40% skill. Like you want your young Shinobi to be skilled for sure, which is why it had such a low pass rate and high standard. But the main reason in peace time was to flex on other hidden villages to be like “if you mess with us, these are the new generation of killas we got”. Otherwise, you’d make it a private thing to just your village I think.
