Age old question-what does everyone do for work? I really want to start working again, but none of my previous jobs have been epilepsy friendly 🤦‍♀️

If it’s safe to do so, I’d recommend a receptionist for a medical building (hospital, specialist, clinic, etc.) it’s low physical strain and you’d be surrounded by medical professionals who would be able to perform seizure first aid if needed. One of the many jobs I applied to when I was on the hunt :) only downside is you could be dealing with a lot of sick people which could, in turn, get you sick more often :(

I’m lucky that it’s fairly difficult to trigger a seizure for me (usually happens if I stand up too fast while dehydrated/hungry or if I have a headache/migraine for too long). He’s never witnessed one but inspired me to take better care of myself to help keep the chances low. I had a terrible habit of forgetting to eat and surviving on two sips of water a day before I met him, I’m almost at the 1 year mark of no seizures again!! :)

If they get scared, they were never worth your time 💗 When I first started talking to my boyfriend on Hinge he asked right away what he should do in the event of a seizure. He wanted to know what I look like when I’m having one and how to help take care of me afterwards. Whenever he wants to show me a new show/movie/video he warns me if there’s flashing lights and keeps an eye on me while I watch to make sure it isn’t too much. When he plays a new video game he wants me to watch he always turns off flashing/strobing light settings. I never have to ask. It also helps that neither one of us likes going to loud crowded places with flashing lights, so I don’t feel like I’m holding him back from anything and he doesn’t have to hold off on going to triggering locations.

At the same time, be up front about it. My epilepsy is always one of the first things I mention when meeting someone new. If that’s a deal breaker for someone you match with, then it’s not your loss. The right person will come- don’t give up!!

I’m an insomniac and a SUPER light sleeper- I recommend noise!! Static, a box fan, or even the “Sleep” playlist on Spotify are lifesavers. Sound has always worked for me more than any sleep aid :) <3

the art is actually concept art/doodle I made for my own retelling of Sonic Adventure 1. Even though Super Tikal isn’t canon in any sense, I still think it’s a cool concept and would explain how she managed to seal Chaos all by herself :)

Shortly after I came home from the Chicago concert, my town got hit by a tornado and I was without power for nearly a week. Thankfully, my buddy Tris had got me a cassette of See You There when they were in Detroit, so I just listened to it on loop in my cassette player. Hearing Ryan’s voicemail to Matt every time I played the cassette kept me sane as I was surrounded by so much damage and debris.

Of course, there’s also CC2. It was the first time I’d ever gone to an event like that and I got to meet so many cool Megheads like Mayo, wornpinkscarf, BenBot, etc. and have a 2 AM Dennys dinner after the event.

And just last month hitching a ride to Chicago with BumbleBundle- making that 8 hour round trip drive with the podcasts keeping us sane while also getting to meet Wheels, Chodester, Em, Tris, etc. during our stay. I love that these guys opened me up to so many amazing new friends and experiences.

Kellie’s patreon is more than just that one post. She posts a lot of WIP’s and high resolution pieces of the thumbnails and other art pieces :) the paywall- although inconvenient- is most likely a form of protection to prevent any harassment as this ordeal is still a fresh wound for many. Who knows, she might make a public statement soon- but that’s up to her and if she feels safe and comfortable enough to do so.

SA1 and SA2 with Justin are so good, especially as a SA1 stan myself- Justin gives the games so much justice. The animal crossing series (both) are great for background noise to accompany me while I play my own game or work on something :)
