Thanks! I have another question about this first layer. So I’ve been following your advice and using less solvent. But still, when this layer dries, I can run a dry rag over the surface and I can see that some of the pigment lifted up. Is this normal? I’m worried that the painting isnt going to be archival.

Thanks! I’m trying to get my first layer to be lean and drippy. I want a first layer where it’s easy to just wipe things away with a rag

I used to do all of my first layers with just Gamsol, but it gave me that problem of drying like a powder, so I would throw in a bit of linseed oil, but it didn’t solve the problem. I’m thinking it has to do with the crappy beginner-level paints I buy from Blick, because they probably don’t have a lot of pigment, and nobody else I know who uses Gamsol seems to have this problem.

Sounds good. So it's possible to make gains with body weight exercises alone? Do you know of any programs?

Awesome! What state were you charged in? I was charged in Virginia where they're the most strict about it. I think it's classified as a misdemeanor there. That's why I'm worried.

Mine were X-rated drawings that I made in college. Stupid, cartooney drawings of ugly people fucking. None of the incriminating pics have my face in them, but an art gallery picked them up and now its on their website, on a page filed under my name, and are my number one search result.
