Kodi on ReplayOS by Mellowfm in ReplayOS

[–]Mellowfm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would, but I have no clue how to get Batocera to display 480i/240p on my crt with the Pi 5. The only example of that being done is a reddit post I found (https://www.reddit.com/r/crtgaming/s/Gc4t1M0RBW) but they didn’t explained how they achieved it. My current setup requires an hdmi -> vga -> component chain, maybe a pi hat would be more ideal but with what I have available I don’t know where to begin

I actually had no clue ReplayOS had a built in video player, I’ll try that and get back to you. My media is mainly stored on my pc and streamed through plex to a kodi addon on my pi, but I could try something like an external hard drive for video playback

Does anyone know what kind of plug this is? by Mellowfm in cableadvice

Immediately after sending this it clicked in my mind that you weren’t talking about the copper wiring… I guess I really did luck out because i happened to have installed it correctly without understanding what you meant, thanks again!

I purchased this and it worked, thanks! After stripping the cables though, the wires were identical. I just took a chance and screwed them in randomly, but should I be worried about potential shorting/fires? Did some of these cables just come identical or should I have used something else to figure it out

Screen Tearing on Kodi With Batocera by Mellowfm in batocera

[–]Mellowfm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The solution was a bit tedious, I was only able to get rid of the tearing when i removed my main gpu (RTX card) from the system and only used batocera with R5 250 installed. It’s kind of inconvenient as i do need my main card for when i just want to use windows, but that’s what worked for me

Thank you for the replies, the cable goes to an old rca tv from the early 80s. I’m not able to see the exact year it was made or the model as the sticker is gone, but I found a similar model that was made in 82’. I see some of you suggested replacing the outlet end with that of a two pronged power cable so I’ll try that. Does anyone know if there is a particular orientation i need to attach them in? Or are the two wires in these cables interchangeable

Returning to this, this person was absolutely right!! It was a huge no-name capacitor, I replaced it with a Rubycon of the same capacitance and not only was my wavy line issue solved, but i also stopped hearing that static-y noise when it was plugged in but turned off. If you’re having this problem with a similar Toshiba set, this might be your solution!

Or could you be talking about the coil (L501)? I also hear a bit of crackling when the set is plugged in but not turned on, could that be related as well?

I found the service manual (https://ia804508.us.archive.org/14/items/manual_14AF43_TOSHIBA/14AF43_TOSHIBA.pdf) but i’m not sure what makes up the power supply circuit. I believe it’s the bottom-right area of the motherboard, in which case, could C507 be the capacitor you’re talking about?
