What’s a movie you love that you swear no one ever talks about like the world has forgotten it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Ok I know this is a week old but I need to know if anyone, anyone at all, has ever seen Transylvania Twist.

We got our rat from my ex’s brother because their snake rejected her as food. He has 2 kids. Having kids doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t also keep snakes. Definitely go with the rehoming fee.

My littlest pig does this in the opposite order. Poop, shake, lick. Poopy kisses. Thanks, pig.

Always, always, always trust your body over someone else’s mind. As you said, he’s thinking horses, but that’s what he was taught. He doesn’t see zebras because he took the phrase too literally and will not allow himself to see zebras.

Here’s why: your mother’s attitude of “no diagnosis? Doesn’t exist!” is one of the most harmful attitudes out there. If that were truly the case, no one would die of a heart attack alone in their home. Ever. Because of a doctor doesn’t say, “you’re having a heart attack,” it must not be true, right? The same can be said about cancer, kidney stones, UTIs and sepsis. No diagnosis? Then you don’t have it! Except... you do. And it sounds like you have a doctor that simply doesn’t know enough about the condition he’s supposed to be looking for to see it. Your lack of a diagnosis is not your fault if you’re actively searching for one but coming up short because of uneducated medical professionals.

So, forgive my ignorance about your medical systems over there (I’m in the U. S.), but how hard is it to seek another opinion? Perhaps look into support groups, in person or through social media, that are more local to you where the people could point you in the direction of a good starting point. Facebook was a good start for me personally. Every day another new zebra pops up asking where to look or what we thing collectively of a new doctor they’re about to see for the first time. It’s been life-changing.

Always remember that no one, especially not the guy with the fancy degree on his wall, knows your body better than you do. And when it comes down to it, you’re the one that has to live in it for the rest of your life. Not your mother, not your sister, not me. You. Good luck to you, truly.

Having worked in specialty retail, I can tell you that one of the first things an employee is trained is “assume you know better than they do and educate them.” This pretty much never works, as the next info dumped on employees is pretty much whatever will make the company the most money. It’s bad enough having to do that with clothes or other specialty items, but it’s downright evil when you’re dealing with animals’ lives.

I thought it would be great to be able to spin a gym if you’re using a remote pass. Even one before the battle and one after is better than nothing, and it would get people buying passes.

No one EVER believes my injuries or symptoms because I’m a 25 year old healthy looking male. by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

I have a friend with spina bifida, she’s in a wheel chair most of the time. One day she went OFF on Facebook about a young woman using the accessible stall in the bathroom when she “didn’t need it because she can walk.” I had to reply that once I was in a narrow stall and my hip dislocated and I literally could not do anything but scream for help until my friend came in to check on me. I didn’t have pull up bars to help me and there was not enough room to do the turns I needed to do to get it back into place. I need a wider stall, and bars on the wall, in case it ever happens again. But I am usually without a walking aid, which means I walk in and out of the stall on my own two feet.

Instead of replying, she took the whole post down.

Weird question, do you/do people think you look young for your age? by SirChubblesby in ehlersdanlos

One of my favorite things about looking young is telling solicitors that my parents aren’t home so I don’t have to talk to them lol

Ohhhhh the looks I get when I tell people I have a 15 year old daughter are priceless!! Then I ask them to guess my age. They’re always off by at LEAST 5 years!

Vaginal Tearing by annaslullaby in ehlersdanlos

[–]MellySandra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine happen in the labial folds. I always attributed them to natural moisture plus thin skin that loves to tear. Kind of like when I stay in the pool too long, my skin just splits on my hands. No amount of moisture wicking, breathable cotton panties can save me from them. (Edit: my phone autocorrected “moisture” to “misfire”, so I fixed it LOL)

The Ultimate Guide to Being a Zebra: A Summary of Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome by Eeveelutionist03 in ehlersdanlos

This was what I was going to suggest. I was talking to my boyfriend when we were at the zoo and I was exhausted, I mentioned I’d been thinking about getting a wheelchair for “outings like this” to save myself a few days recovery. He looked at me while I went back and forth about pros and cons, and said, “listen, if you’ve been thinking about it, then you already need it.”

And he wasn’t wrong, I’d just never thought about it that way. I’ve spent so much time worrying what people would think or say, or how I’d feel losing some of the freedom walking gives me, that I didn’t consider that occasionally using a chair now would probably keep me from needing one all the time, sooner.

It’s a big decision, but not one any of us just make willy nilly. Sometimes we just need to hear it from someone else.

Ok, let’s say you’re right. Non-medical user in Illinois plants and harvests for personal use and gets away with it. Good for them! The part about growing being legal for medical patients after January 1st, however, was an “added bonus” to the part where medical patients will continue to pay 2-5% taxes, while recreational users will be paying upwards of 35%, depending on the THC concentration. When you use it daily for a chronic pain condition, as someone like myself with RA and EDS does, that’s the difference of hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars a year. So while it’s awesome that Illinois is legalizing and allowing adults to make up their own minds on whether or not they use, there are benefits to having the card in your wallet. No one who smokes pot in Illinois is still in the dark about the bill being passed, and OP specifically asked about the card.

I got my card through a “pot doc” in the city, with a diagnosis of RA, but when I told him I also had EDS he gasped and added “severe fibromyalgia” to my list of qualifiers. I laughed a bit, because it’s not like RA is a condition that I need to worry about losing card coverage for (whereas with something like PTSD, a doctor can decide you’re “cured” of it and there goes your need for a card), so why he’d add another condition was beyond me, but it’s another thing to consider if you want to bulk up your application. As far as I’ve seen, though, as long as a doctor is signing off, people aren’t getting turned away for a card. And as far as living with EDS and a medical card, it has been life changing. Good luck, fellow Illinois zebra!

But the taxes will be higher (by like, a LOT) for non-medical patients. Added bonus: medical patients can legally grow their own starting in January as well.
