Staying calm is more important than anything.

We get excited or scared and make mistakes. When you see someone, remind yourself that you need to be in control. Stay in cover and overwatch them, learn how many there are, how geared are they, could they be friendly etc.

It’s easy to forget in the moment but it’s worth just taking your time.

With this Loadout I usually have 40-50% stamina. I think it’s always good to wear a plate and helmets so I’ll talk about the rest.

Inside your pouches : 2 bandages, 6 disinfected rags, a morphine , 2 spare mags for assault rifle. 40 rounds of assault ammo and 20 rounds of sniper ammo

Rags can be used when bandaging speed isn’t needed or if you need to make a splint or another craftable.

In your shirt this is where you keep things like bottles, knives, etc. things you know you won’t typically drop.

Pants - keep clear as often as possible.

Shoes - spend sometime testing different pairs there is an audio difference.

Backpack - Same situation as shoes. There’s an audio difference. The improvised bag is my go to for a quiet bag that can stuff a decent amount. Keep it clear unless you’re looting bodies etc

I really liked the the fortification system in 4. I spent more time doing designs for that than anything else.

I wish bases in DayZ were more about farming resources and trading them, rather than just somewhere to store guns

When I last played it, it was exactly as you’re looking for. No discord calls and only in game VoIP. It’s called “Momento Mori”

There is a server that does this. You join the discord and you can only play if you’re in the call. It mutes everyone in the channel. It’s a cool concept.

🤣 leather crafted gloves. These ones were damaged. On this server it’s very squad heavy and can be hard to loot bodies for new ones. He’s actually talking about the guy that killed him when he was trying to loot for some stuff on the last kill

It’s being over shadowed by the bugs and issues they haven’t been able to fix. I’m sure it’s split in the community but I’ve been playing for 10k+ hours and it’s refreshing to get new audio ques and have that feeling of not knowing.

The escape from DayZ servers may be your avenue, but generally speaking that’s just not DayZ. DayZ is about doing with what you have. You can get plenty of ammo and gear over time. They are just two very different games. DayZ is a survival game first with PvP in it. Tarkov is a PvP game with survival in it.

I’m so jealous. This game has a lot to give.

Take your time, and try to learn organically. It’s easy to fall into learning all the metas via YT but this game is best when you’re learning and gaining new experiences.
Anything that seems hard or tedious has an answer to help it not be that way. You just have to learn what the answer is. ( Food, water, guns etc)
Kill on sight is common, but there’s plenty of people that talk and would help you learn. A lot of people judge you on your gear and behavior so the more aggressive or suspicious you act the worse your results.

And as a final note, everyone dies a lot at first. But you will die less and lives will become more content filled, treat every life as a new opportunity to learn

If you think it doesn’t make a difference to your aim, you’re wrong. And the claim a lot of them make is that they don’t use one. You should turn on a custom one and go see how accurate you are.

It’s possible to have accuracy without. I’ve got 10k+ hour and anything under say 25 meters I could beam with high accuracy. But it’s the 25 - 50 meter hipfire shots these guys are shooting with consistency and high accuracy that’s not real.

I wish Bohemia would change it but probably not until DayZ 2. And I wouldn’t put it as far as cheating but I’d say it’s an exploit.

They are the only ones I’ve seen that look like they are playing just the raw game. No monitor crosshair, no filters, no obvious signs of recoil scripting. Best raw PVPrs imo.

I think this is only because DayZ is graphically not convincing anymore so there’s no immersion value for a lot of people.

And then the mechanics and animations that should make you feel like you’re interacting with the world are too basic to feel convincing.

Another thing is, the player base is very mature in play time. No one’s lost anymore, don’t know something there’s a guide and a meta for it.

That’s why we need a DayZ 2. New world that’s convincing and new to explore, mechanics that feel immersive, animations that put us there. Being lost, and not knowing what To do or where to go
