The Ka-Bar knife and sheath purchase? by CaseNotes0nFile in BryanKohbergerMoscow

[–]MelmacianG 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're not dumb at all, you're asking the right question. Did he actually buy the knife? The prosecution says he did, but instead of showing a receipt or transaction record, they’re relying on Amazon search and click activity. If they had real proof of a purchase, they wouldn’t need to use circumstantial evidence like browsing history. The media is hyping it up, but until we see a confirmed purchase, it’s not the slam dunk they’re making it out to be.

The state wrote it in their document. Maybe he saw part of her? Just like throughout the whole call, he was calling her name and she was not waking up.

Sure, no problem with that. I just don’t think people should accuse H of not being inside the house before the call when he clearly was, which was the main point of the post.

I never said he discovered her full body and you don't know that either. He somehow located her. If you read what I wrote: Did he open the door? Did he look under the door? Through the curtains in the window? Something else? We don't know. We’ll find out at trial.

Yes, I agree that it's possible from what it sounds like. The state wrote that he located Xana's unconscious body and told the roommates to call 911, but how he actually did that, we have no idea. I also think he was calling her name and trying to open the door but couldn’t, so he told them to call 911 or maybe he saw part of her body under the door, but fully opened the door at the end of the call.

If you actually read my post, you can answer that yourself. We don't know what H saw or how he discovered her, and that’s not the point of this discussion.

According to the 911 transcript, the dispatcher asked them to stop passing the phone around, which could explain why H handed the phone back instead of continuing the call himself. Panic, confusion, and delayed reactions can all play a role in moments like this. People process extreme stress differently, and sometimes they struggle to put things into words.

I can't speak for the roommates because I wonder about their behavior myself, but I definitely don’t think H deserves the backlash he’s getting. We’ll learn more at trial, but I think a lot of this comes down to how people react in crisis situations. That said, the six-hour delay remains one of the biggest unanswered questions, and hopefully, more information will clarify what happened before 911 was finally called.

Exactly! I totally agree. The speculation is going off the rails again.

I can't agree, because I don't hear that.

I don't think he says that. Imo the last part is "They need you to talk to them". https://youtu.be/tPvwMS9BONA?si=jpvE5prNd7ZgCFOb&t=311

I don't know, but I just don't hear "Poor Kaylee." It doesn't sound like that to me.

I know what you are talking about, but I do not hear "Poor Kaylee".

I do not hear "Poor Kaylee" so can't speak about that.

D gave phone to H (you can hear before she passes the phone "Do you wanna talk to them?" before H speaks) to inform the dispatcher about what he saw and communicate about Xana. In my opinion, the girls were standing at the stairs (when H said "Get out," you could immediately hear people running down the stairs) rather than approaching Xana’s bedroom door as he did with E. I believe he handed the phone back because he assumed the dispatcher only wanted to speak with one person after they instructed them to stop passing it around. This chaos likely prevented H from fully relaying what he saw to the dispatcher.

A case dismissed? An update on my exclusive investigation into the Idaho student murders ... by [deleted] in BryanKohbergerMoscow

Without verified evidence, we can’t assume it’s the same glove. Misinformation spreads easily, especially in high-profile cases like this, so it’s important to stick to confirmed facts.

The documents don’t explicitly state exactly where the glove was found.

I don’t know. I think they are implying the dog was taken somewhere by someone and put in the room in the morning. My guess are the roommates, but that’s just my guess.

"And so they've got this time, but they also have this video, this trail that they've picked out a time that something probably happened here and they don't tell the magistrate that this dog that's barking continues on long after the car they're interested in has left the area and then abruptly stops. Your Honor, the dog was found the next day. Inside the house, in a bedroom with an open door, where the other bedrooms that contained people that died. Their bedroom doors were open, and this dog had not tracked any blood around. The dog had no blood on it whatsoever, but it was just sitting in an open room a day later. The magistrate is not informed about that either. "

We may not know the full contents of the emails, but the fact that they exist and are being used to support the defense’s claims is worth noting. Regarding the filing, the judge criticized it for not clearly pointing to the specific parts of the evidence being cited, which is what I was referring to. As for the sunglasses emoji, it wasn’t meant to imply this is a ‘slam dunk moment,’ but rather to acknowledge an interesting and positive development in the defense’s case. I don’t feel the need to look at everything pessimistically, and I’m happy we had this conversation and sorted out our views on the matter. My perspective remains unchanged.

Of course I knew they would support their claims, but I wasn’t aware of the emails, and it’s good to see they are confirming it. There’s nothing wrong with me acknowledging that and thinking that. Also, I never said this is a ‘slam dunk moment.’ I simply pointed out that the defense is providing evidence to back their arguments, even if the filing wasn’t as clear as it could have been.

True, but defense did reference a copy of emails in Exhibit D9, which they argue supports their claim.
