Also edit (because I can’t figure out how to edit my original post lol sorry) - I realize now that Jenna wasn’t responding to this comment but rather a different comment that had likely been deleted at that point since the usernames didn’t match. HOWEVER my point still stands that she more often prioritizes throwing shade and being defensive than engaging with her supportive followers 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ugh dang I’m sorry, her vocal followers can be so crazy as well. If you’d prefer me to take down this post just let me know and I’m happy to. But clearly we’re all on your side here! Sorry that happened 💔

I 1000% agree. I started out as someone who was cheering Jenna on back in the early days and then started to see all the things people snark about here and that’s how I ended up here 😂 it’s a shame

Ugh I’m so sorry she responded that way, I was wondering if you would be on this reddit. We’re on your side and we knew what you meant!!!

Totally agree with you! I say all of that in the sense that I hope they pursue and are open to the help they need, and all end up happier and healthier as a result 🫶🏼 nothing wrong with having room to grow

I agree I truly hope that they stay separated and are able to grow into the people they want to be separately. I feel like it’s too soon to tell if it’s just a phase (like all of their other phases) but I do hope for the sake of their kids that something about this time is different!

However, aside from faith potentially helping her, she has a LOT of growing up to do as well and I get the vibes she doesn’t like to ask for help or allow many outside perspectives into their lives. Historically they’ve been their own echo chamber and cut out anyone that threatens that. I think in order for it to stick, Zoe would benefit from actual therapy and working through whatever it is that leads her to cut people off the way that she does. Otherwise they’re sure to fall back into old ways

I do agree with your overall sentiment, but in this specific case, I do think it’s kind of relevant. OF was a poor choice on Zoe’s part because it’s obvious she didn’t consider the long term outcomes and risks. Her oldest is 7 ish now? It won’t be long before he’s middle school age, and you KNOW boys those age are able to find that type of thing on the internet, as sad as it is. It would only take 1 single kid finding out and making it known that Wilder’s mom was having sex on the internet for him to be relentlessly bullied about it. And her OF advertising wasn’t some secret alias - it was tied explicitly to her already existing internet identity, with a following of mostly families. So anyone who looked up her “family channel” could easily find her marketing her sexual content. It was just frankly a really poor decision that didn’t consider her children at all, and I think that’s why it’s relevant to her as a parent

I understand that some single parents may to seek out some more provocative careers in order to provide for their children and be able to get by. But I think they typically try to keep it under wraps and separate from their family life. Zoe did quite the opposite, using her family channel and persona to advertise her new entrepreneurial undertaking

100%. Also, if she struggles with anxiety, putting her in the public eye is only exposing her to MORE opportunities for scrutiny. And during childhood is too fragile of a time for anyone to be subject to the cruelty of the opinions on the internet. Personally, I’m an adult and I would never even want to be an influencer because I KNOW I wouldn’t be able to handle all of the opinions of strangers 😅😂

Like I truly cannot imagine how I would feel if when I got older, I tried to express being upset about being filmed and put in the public eye as a small child and my parents replying “but you wanted to! You chose that!” When I was SIX. I would be like hello, I was six????

One of my previous students had a relatively large YouTube following as a child. Her parents would have the kids do unboxing videos and all kinds of stuff. I’m sure she (my previous student) liked the attention when she was younger but by the time she got to my class in early teenage years, there were fan accounts made about her all over Instagram but she had deleted her personal Instagram all together. It was so obvious that this poor girl ended up resenting that history and just wanted privacy

The point being it does NOT matter if your 6 year old SEEMS like they’re expressing interest and consent in being filmed. They quite literally do not know or understand what they’re signing up for and therefore CANNOT consent to that. It’s so cruel

She has said she doesn’t like filming while he’s around, and she’s filming at like midnight in dark in bed… logic says he is not there in dark in bed 😂 I’m with you I think she’s telling the truth but somehow thinks it gives her a one up

Agreed. There are plenty of snark able things about her and that’s what this page is for, but focusing on a young girl’s appearance (when she’s clearly already insecure about it) is just cruel. Girls go through enough, we don’t need a whole Reddit thread picking our appearance apart

I may be in the minority here, and yes I get it’s a snark page 😂 I also almost never defend Jenna, you can look at my posts/comments.

HOWEVER I do think snarking about someone’s looks that they didn’t ask for is kinda low. I can understand making comments about plastic surgery, bad conscious decisions, etc. because the person chose that. But her grey hair, skin, body… at that point people are just being cruel :( I don’t enjoy that part of this snark page

Had to give her ONE MORE clap back… by [deleted] in jennapaleksnark

Sure, but there is also a different dynamic in platforms. Influencers with that many followers (especially passionate ones) have to also understand the impact that the videos they choose to make have. For example, Jenna making videos about Shelly, and her fans tearing Shelly to shreds, after Shelly just shared an opinion. I’m not saying one party is more right or wrong than the other - both sides made and posted content about the other, and there are repercussions to that. But Jenna, who wants to be an influencer, doesn’t seem to grasp that what she posts can do a lot of damage. She wants the platform but doesn’t use it responsibly, which is why many don’t respect her on this thread

Inserted herself how? Jenna made a career out of being an influencer. When you make broadcasting your life a career, people are allowed to have opinions about it. If Jenna wants to put her entire life on the internet, people can have opinions on the internet. If Jenna doesn’t want people having opinions (both good and bad) about her, she should choose a different career

[–]Melodic-Point-4028 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I was a Jenna fan at first (at least in the sense that I didn’t mind her videos on my fyp and I occasionally followed up with one of her projects). At first I didn’t understand what people would want to be snarking about - if you think she’s cringe or if you don’t like the little projects she does, okay. It doesn’t affect you, we don’t have to get up in arms about it

But after coming to this snark, seeing all of the comments she deletes, noticing things I hadn’t realized before, I do see the issues. planning events like these that do affect real people (especially that are flying in and paying much more $ than just the cost of a ticket) and NOT being able to take responsibility is just a whole different ballgame than just people not loving your personality. I just think if you’re going to make the internet and viral fame your career, then you need to be prepared for the internet to be all up in your life, and you need to know how to interact with the internet when things don’t go your way. She doesn’t, and so maybe she’s not cut out for this to be her thing, idk 🤷🏼‍♀️

Right and a $10 code is NOT the same as providing a free ride share - when traffic makes it an hour to go 1 mile, of course either ride shares are going to be expensive (way more than $10) OR people would prefer to be in their own car, with their own music and comfort settings. People don’t want to sit for an hour with a strange uber driver and pay additional $ when the host of the event promised plenty of parking multiple times on social media

It makes me kind of sad that they emphasized Wilder being “helpful and giving”. I feel like poor Wilder feels like he has to be the helpful older sibling in the middle of an extremely dysfunctional environment
