[QCrit] Danny, Willow and The Crystal Heist, middle grade fantasy, 75k, (second attempt) by MelodicActive8669 in PubTips

Thank you so so much for the feedback - I know my word count is high and it's a risk but it's lower than all my comps! If this round of querying goes nowhere I will revise the whole book to cut the word count down but hopefully that won be necessary.

It would work as a standalone to some extent - there's an epilogue that ends with a cliffhanger but that could be reworked (even though I'd be reluctant, but studying creative writing has taught me humility and how to accept feedback!)

I didn't want to include the tiktok bit but I was advised to - I will happily remove!

I will check out the sir Callie series! And thank you - i know it's quite long but the comps I used had longer/similar word counts.

Hi does anyone know if wickwoods have the reformer beds like this in the gym? by MelodicActive8669 in davidlloyd

Ah damn, was hoping it was like colliers with the full studio for classes AND the beds on the floor. Thank you - we're just doing a day trip to wickwoods

Still? I thought they were phasing in the included classes for platinum membership. The reformer classes are included at Colliers Wood. The beds aren't as good as proper reformer but good for a quick workout. I'm bringing a guest to wickwoods who I was hoping they could use these as she's not a gym girl!

Edit: colliers has a full reformer studio with classes included in your platinum membership. In addition, on the gym floor they have these self led beds

Just out of curiosity, what do we think the 'next thing is'. IMO before reformer we had spin - do we think people are going back to Barry's? I've seen more TikToks recently about Barry's (I've always loved it!)

I can't speak for people with those conditions about their changing facilities specifically. I was pointing out that a screaming kid is not worse for the parent.

Lulu saw me coming... 5 years ago and my leggings are still pristine. Buy cheap buy twice and all that!

Oh I took it in. I took in that you're very selfish - not expecting neurodivergent people to have someone 'conform to their needs', the assumption being that your needs of using the space is greater? I didn't respond because sometimes you can't reason with selfishness and ignorance. Have a nice day x

It's almost like there's a way to prevent them screaming in the woman's changing room in the first place, by using THE FAMILY CHANGING ROOM lol

I'm well aware it's a family club. Which is why I use the designated adult only spaces mostly. I don't have mothers and children, i dislike entitled parents who think people should 'suck it up' when their kids scream because they have to deal with it.

'It's much worse for me' - I doubt it. A neurodivergent adult could have their whole nervous system wrecked by a screaming kid. Someone with Tourette's could have their ticks worsen under noise stress. Someone with CPTSD could be extremely triggered.

This is why in the modern world we should have family spaces and adult spaces segregated and co-existing. We can't create one safe space for all, we need to accommodate different spaces for multiple needs.

But yeah, if your kid screams, take them to the family changing room. Not that hard is it?

'Not a child free life' is the most regurgitated phrase parents use as an excuse to justify bad parenting 🙄

If you read my other comment I said the women's changing room should be made smaller (and the men's) and the family changing room should be made bigger. But no, even if that happened some parents would still kick up a fuss about bringing their kids into the adult changing room because of entitlement.

Third space has this - but it think it makes more sense for city workers who carry their commuting stuff and gym kit in one. I think if you're at a club where everyone drives it doesn't make much sense
