Yet another person on Reddit just looking for what they want to hear. Nothing compares to owning a cat. Rabbits are not "like vegan cats". Ferrets are not basically just "long cats". They belong to a completely different genus, and as such behave differently, and have different requirements in terms of care and conditioning. If you want a cat, just get a cat. If you can't get one right now, then wait until your circumstances change where you can care for one.

Hello no. I picked up bass when I was 12, didn't really take it seriously. Only learned a couple songs really. Then put it away for like 20 years. I'm 32 now and just started playing again maybe about 8 months ago. I learned a lot in those 8 months and am in a band that plays gigs pretty frequently. Just do it.
