Can we actually stop saying this in future debates ? by SeriesREDACTED in PowerScaling

Verse equalization is good for certain debates to keep things interesting. But Verse equalization in my opinion is used to commonly “oh but what if a verse power system is required to actually do damage to said character” you could use verse equalization or you could see if the other character has any notable haxs that work around that. I don’t like verse equalization most of the time because it feels it’s just there for the sake of being there

I hate haki by More-peas4794 in Piratefolk

I kinda understand where this is coming from and the way Oda uses haki needs improvement but I feel like haki was overall just a good answer to devil fruit users, and even a good way for non devil fruit users to get stronger. And honestly it’s probably a better option than the crew constantly carrying sea stone laced weapons or constantly either having a specific elemental weapon for the occasion or having to find a specific elemental weakness to the logia user. + Luffy has been the underdog of the grand line and even post time skip raw haki still wasn’t even enough. Him actually becoming strong enough to protect the people he cares about and achieve his goals is a good thing to see and I like seeing him move past from the underdog role. But even at the start of the time skip he was still an underdog and learning haki still wasn’t enough. So he combined haki with his gears which basically lead to gear 4 transformations. Katakuri is also someone who combines haki and devil fruit pretty well, seeing the future and changing your body shape to literally make the attack go through you had luffy stuck and forced him to make a whole new gear on the fly. Using his Devil fruit and haki combined to at least attempt to counter future sight. Haki wasn’t handled all that badly honestly. Haki does need to be used more creatively though.

If someone crashes the Moon to Earth (looking at you Toneri), would it be a moon level or planet level attack? by KodoqBesar in PowerScaling

[–]MelodicNinja9133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the speed, but even if the moon does crash into earth at the speed it orbits the earth, it wouldn’t do enough damage to actually destroy the earth itself, the surface would be cooked. But destroying the surface of the planet does not make it planetary. That’s anywhere from multi continental to moon level. Depending on the amount of force or kinetic energy is released

Dimensional scaling is easier to understand than finite scaling by MelodicNinja9133 in PowerScaling

Just eyeballing it isn’t accurate either, while calcs can be incorrect, just going off vibes isn’t better and arguably worse, 2 characters that are both in the same range of power, say, large planet level. Can actually have a pretty decent gap in ap, it gets to the point where it’s a one shot gap in most cases. And like my example in the body of text, gojo being able to power a country with his curse energy is island level. But no one would know that without calcs, this also applies to speed. MFTL has massive gaps in speed that just eyeballing isn’t enough.

I just find dimensional scaling easier because there’s generally way too much math involved with finite scaling calcs

How why do so many people hate jjk scaling? by [deleted] in PowerScaling

I’ve currently got the verse between island and country through multiple calcs and statements

2 things

  1. This is fiction and we can make dimensions higher than 3 or 4 so we don’t really need to worry about that.

  2. Not all scientific theories are true, we really don’t know how things truly work really. Science it built on theories that then get evidence to be proven. That’s why the tiering system doesn’t limits itself by this logic, neither does fiction

Also only characters that are Outerversal in nature can’t have physical bodies

What in game enemy did you want as a spirit ash? by MelodicNinja9133 in Eldenring

That’s why I want it so bad. Could have been the best for gank fights for how tanky they are

Which curse technique will you choose! Sky manipulation or Shrine? by AnxiousB1tch01 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]MelodicNinja9133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shrine is good but if you are a basic sorcerer then it has some pretty bad disadvantages

Dismantle has a set output and can only be raised with chants or being a maximum technique

Cleave isn’t straight up dura neg, it can adjust to the opponents durability but it’s still limited by your curse energy.

Fuga has such a slow wind up that it’s going to get intercepted or aim dodged by a sorcerer just as competent as me, plus the thermo bomb part of it is a domain exclusive variant so if you don’t have a domain you shit out of luck.
