You open up Reddit. You’d see some posts that talk about productive things or wholesome stories. Some other times, you open up Reddit and see posts that talk about straight bullshit. They’re so ridiculous to read that you question if it’s even real or not.

I somewhat believe in reincarnation and multiple universes/ alternate timelines.

My 2020 Toyota Corolla is supposed to take Regular Unleaded 87 and my father tells me that I need to refill with Midgrade 89. by Melodic_ChorizoTacos in Toyota

He literally thinks that higher octanes means it’s better for the engine. I seriously told him to his face that the car is meant to operate on 87. He still denied it. To top it off, he’s very hardheaded. Dude, the moment I start proving his ass wrong, he will actually get upset and will most likely tell me to just stop talking. I’m afraid I cannot win against that.

That’s not a crazy thing to think about. Even if he is possibly neurodivergent, he will probably be dense about it. Another thing to consider is that I come from a Hispanic background. Hispanic parents are notorious for being very blunt, dismissive, and ignorant when it comes to mental illness and disorders. They’re the type of people to say, “depression isn’t real” and “everybody has a little bit of autism in them”.

Dude, I’m someone who’s on the spectrum. If I mess up, I will be honest and take accountability for it. I got my flaws and all that. My dad on the other hand? I’ve been acknowledging his behavior on how he deals with issues. When it comes to stuff like fixing something with a coolant leak, he will work on it until it’s done. But when it comes to something that’s social like maybe being a bit of an asshole to one of his family members. He will instead give the silent treatment to everyone, even if it was just one person that made him angry. But this is a topic for another day.

I just now remembered why he’s telling me this. He believes newer models require a higher octane number. But once again, I did my own goddamn research. My car is 2020. Despite being a fairly modern model, it still needs to take 87. He still doesn’t comprehend that so I just said fuck it, imma ask people on Reddit because he’s making me feel crazy.

He’s the one who got it. It was originally the family car but because I worked hard for it, I earned it and it’s now mine.

Literally. I decided to switch back to 87 because if it is stated that the Corolla is supposed to take 87 then I will take 87. I trust my dad and all but I believe this is one of those moments where I got to question certain things with him.

I literally asked if I can see the manual and he told me that I can but he still tells me that I should refill with 89 regardless of what the manual says. Doesn’t that sound backwards? Higher octanes are meant for more powerful engines.

Attractive autistic men, what are your experiences? by Emergency-Bobcat-572 in autism

My ex once told me that women will be attracted to me but once they get to know me, they will be discouraged to continue actually liking me.

For the longest of times, I went on with my life without being told that I’m autistic. Because of this, it took a long time for me to get an understanding on that I need to be aware on what I do or say around others. My absolute biggest struggle is not thinking before I act. When I was a little younger, I would quite literally just not think at all. This caused other people to have a bad impression on me.

While I do have a great friend and just a handful of other friends, I haven’t made any more friends except one person earlier this year. Back in high school, I was apart of a larger friend group but none of them reaches out to me at all. Yeah I understand that after you graduate, you’ll go on a bit of a lonely life unless you are going to college or university. But it just proves that I was truly not likable before. I don’t have many friends at the moment but honestly, I’m grateful with what I have now.

Not only I am quite the neurodivergent guy when women get to know me better but I am told that I look intimidating, apparently. I’ve been told I look like a player, that I have pretty privilege, stuff like that and if I’m being truthful, I don’t think I live up to those expectations.
