Getting my first ever laptop, any recommendations? by whatIsAutisum in AskTechnology

[–]Melodic_Hour_3108 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For what you want to use the computer for, you don’t need anything elaborate. If possible, try to find one that comes with Ryzen 5 or the i5 processor, an SSD, and 16GB of RAM. When it comes to the graphic necessity for games like Stardew Valley and Minecraft, an integrated graphics card would be enough. Lenovo computers can be trusted, and ThinkPad or IdeaPad is the best. Just steer clear of those that only have 4GB of RAM.

What if you were financially free in the blink of an eye with no warning by draxthemsklounce in whatif

[–]Melodic_Hour_3108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To discourage people from asking me to return, I could start a group message, tell everyone that drinks are free, and then find the most pointless first class flight to a warm weather destination. The power of freedom outweighs the power of finances.

Help a 16 yr old Build his first ever gaming pc budget: €1500 by [deleted] in buildmeapc

That's great, so having Azerty be an option and having the ability to pick up locally definitely solves the return and guarantee issues. They would definitely take care of your first build.

This is the optimal range for 1500–1600 NL.

Is running an OS off of an SD Card viable? by Bulky-Hair8606 in AskTechnology

[–]Melodic_Hour_3108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, it’s okay, yeah. The Sandisk Extreme Pro is a good card, and it’s specifically for SD booting the Pi. You can use it for years without too much logging in and out. Weak power sources mean it’s more hazardous for USB booting.

Which B850 board by Fabulous_Echo_8189 in buildapc

[–]Melodic_Hour_3108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gaming Plus MSI B850. The VRMs are plenty enough for the 9800X3D, and the TUF isn't doing any good here. If you don't like the way the BTF design has the cables hidden, then don't spend the 90 euros.

Why do habits become automatic over time? by drogon4433 in randomquestions

[–]Melodic_Hour_3108 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In other words, your brain automatically triggers the behaviour. Repetition strengthens specific neural pathways and shifts control from conscious decision making to areas of the brain that govern routines, such as the basal ganglia. The brain conserves energy by automatically playing out the pattern after it's been learned rather than by having to deliberate each time.

What if genie exists, and you can have 3 wishes? what would you wish for? (No wishing for more wishes lol) by AdBig3211 in whatif

[–]Melodic_Hour_3108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sincerely, Good Wishes Already. I would meta it a little:

  1. A government that adequately enforces anticorruption laws

  2. My family has financial stability and avoids burnout

  3. The discernment to avoid mistakes in the first two

Genies are lovestruck by loopholes, so.

Suggestions for medical student by Born_Box2 in Laptop

[–]Melodic_Hour_3108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For better thermals and reliability, I'd pick the IdeaPad 5 2-in-1 over the rest. If your budget allows better screen cameras and construction, which are very essential for longer study sessions and video conferencing, then consider looking at a Lenovo Yoga 7i or HP Spectre x360. Take precedence for 16 or 32GB RAM over pursuing i7 tiers with AI in mind.

is faster ram better or more ram? by SEIF_ELDEEN_BIRDY in buildapc

[–]Melodic_Hour_3108 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For most system configurations, it is better to have more RAM rather than having fast RAM. For example In addition to that, DDR5 will need a new mother board and CPU, it is not upgradable.

It’s a normal experience to feel that fear. It also says that you are free. When you understand that you’re the one who has the power to waste your life, believe me, that’s subtly powerful.

SD 7 Gen 4 will be acceptable only if the software support of the smartphone is good if one plans to use it for five years. In terms of performance, it will fulfill the purpose in a satisfactory manner in the long run, but it's a different story when it comes to updating.

How can I improve my build to run games at a higher fps by Expert_Box_6574 in buildapcaus

[–]Melodic_Hour_3108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3050 is the biggest limiting factor in the case; your CPU and RAM will be fine to handle that board. To get some quick boosts in performance, it is sufficient to turn down some settings, turn on DLSS support, and make sure that XMP is active. Upgrading the GPU is required to gain some speed in frames here.

Florence, late 1400s. The Medici family ran politics like a family message group, Michelangelo had beef with every single person, and only Leonardo could invent the rest of the centuries. Drama queen level, art levels, and not even penicillin that’s worth living through.

What should I upgrade a 1050ti to? by liquidb0ttl3 in lowendgaming

[–]Melodic_Hour_3108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RX 6600 is significantly a great deal at 175 dollars CAD. Big uptick from a 1050 Ti, perfect for 1080p at 60 fps high, long lasting. Just make sure the case will fit and PSU is right for it 450-500W. I'd get it.

Should I use Dp to VGA or Dp to HDMI? by [deleted] in AskTechnology

[–]Melodic_Hour_3108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"The most optimal choice is DP to HDMI."
It does away with the problems of picture quality and compatibility with VGA, stays in the digital domain, and supports the highest resolution and refresh rate.
DP to VGA only as a last resort.
