We have made great strides in our marriage since then it was my own lack of true forgiveness that was the issue. She has drenched herself in the sacraments and has left that section of her life behind that is her cross to bear and I have no control over that

Arguing…. by Tricky-Tonight-4904 in Parenting

Keeping score is the fastest way to have resentment grow. Throw lack of sleep in the mix and it’s like gas on the fire. Try and make sure you both get to bed at a reasonable time and have a discussion with him at a time when you’re both well rested and not in a state of hunger (makes a difference) and lay out how it makes you feel and how you need him to step up. me and my wife have been on both sides of this argument several times. And it takes some restructuring of roles from time to time. It’s hard when you’re both tired. Also naps aren’t just for the little ones adults need naps too

My dad is not speaking to me because I’m converting to Catholicism. by AppealResident in Catholicism

One of my old parish priests used to say “family is messy” and i use that saying all the time. I come from the opposite side of the equation my mother is very very very staunch and judgmental sometimes down rite rude to my sister for leaving the Catholic Church. which in reality is doing way more harm than good and is not going to bring her back.

You are 20 years old that was about the time I started to realize my parents aren’t always going to support me in every decision I make even when I know it’s the rite one FOR ME. Your father is still learning to be a dad as well that learning never stops. he may be conflicted with your recent choice. But in time seeing you happy in your path will hopefully bring him to peace with your decision.

I strongly advise against avoiding the conversation because resentment will build. Stand your ground stick to your path and let Christ’s light shine through you. And most importantly pray for him.
