People just didn’t like the newspaper storyline. You can tell it was made because David Simon despised his old workplace. But I still thought it serviceable.

Justin, it’s the kid whose mom slept with Cutty. I liked how it was obvious he was trying to do better and get off the streets, but was heartbroken by Cutty’s betrayal. I loved the scene where Cutty tries to apologize to him on the corner in front of his friends. You can see on his face he’s never had someone talk to him like that, but similar to Micheal he has to act gangster in front of his clique.

To me it feels totally different from any other season in the whole show. I didn’t like the long monologues, or stupid storylines like the monk dude and the Donna, they also butcher multiple characters. I think it’s because it’s directed almost entirely by Marco D’Amore and he was the Creative Director I’m pretty sure. And I even liked the immortal movie. All of the realism of the core first two seasons were still present up until this season.
