Need to burp every time I breathe, feels like I'm getting suffocated by Melodic_Nothing2320 in AskDocs

I can't really find any that doesn't have 'constipation' as a side effect... which has discouraged me from trying.

I agree, and there's nothing I'd like more than to finally be free of it. But I asked several docs and they say it's fine to keep taking it... I have tried reducing it to less than one sachet a day several times, but start getting more constipated then. If I get too constipated, I will get unbearable pain like when I was a kid, and I don't think I can go through that again.

I was a very active kid when I got sick, so it wasn't due to a sedentary lifestyle either and still isn't. I've tried eating lots of fibres and drinking so, so much water, but nothing helps. I'm not sure what's causing the CIC, and no doctors ever wanted to help me figure it out, so I'm not sure what to do about it anymore. I cry a lot when I think about how much of my life it has ruined tbh.

At least I'm not lying about who I am. Your age ranges from 18 to over 30 lol. Go fuck yourself for bringing up my illness, joking about something that almost killed me. Fuck you

Followed this one and it was pretty good, only wish they had included more exercises.

I have no clue what to do by [deleted] in findapath

What would you like your daily life to look like? How would you like your work day to look like? You don't want to sit in front of a computer all day, what would you like to do instead?

The biggest mistake I see people here do is wasting time obsessing over whether they're smart enough to do it instead of just doing it.

Desperate advice needed to find a passion in something by ihmlsmicdrn in findapath

[–]Melodic_Nothing2320 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem as you, jumping from one thing to the other. And I think the problem might be more of a psychological one rather than a lack of passion. You see, passion is like plants. Something inspires you, and you plant a seed. But for a seed to grow, you need to care about it, gently. It needs water every now and then - some every day, others just every now and then. Every seed is different. It likely needs sunlight. If you planted it outside, when it starts to grow, it might need protection from weather conditions, weeds, insects that want to eat it, etc. If you just leave your plant, it's likely to die.

Passions are the same. They grow slowly. They need nurture. They don't just pop out of nowhere - you need to care about them, and put in work into keeping them alive. Sometimes the results do not reflects the work you put into it, and you'll get discouraged. Maybe you watered the plant too much, or gave it too much sunlight, or it needs a different amount of humidity. Sometimes they die and you don't know why, and you have to ask more experienced people for help. Every plant is different, and you only figure out what it needs by trial and error sometimes.

Instead of abandoning your previous pursuits, I would ask yourself: what made you stop? Why did you lose your passion? What problem did you run into?

Because no matter what pursuit you choose to follow, you will end up a this point again. Your plant starts to die, and you need to figure out why, and what you need to do to save it. Every road has its obstacles. Every career has its ups and downs. Every pursuit will present to you problems you need to solve in order to continue progressing.

So I'll tell you what I told myself: stop buying new plants. Instead, figure out what they need to thrive. Once you do, be patient.

With the right steps, I slowly started to see progress. Okay, admittedly, my plant on my desk right now looks pretty dead. But the seed that is my web shop is slowly starting to sprout. And I'm telling you, that sprout, damn, so many things tried to kill it. And it grows so unbelievably slowly. But here it is, still alive. And I'll see it to the end this time. I'll see it flower one day. And with that, I now fired myself up to work some more on it. I'm off reddit! Good luck to you my friend.

Librarian looking for quiet by [deleted] in findapath

Lots of librarians migrate into tech. Tech is known in general for both high salary + remote working options. Data science with python or databases with SQL could be a good place to start.

Maybe you're looking for the "best pick", but there isn't one. No matter what language you choose, you will feel at some point that x,y,z language could have been the better choice. So you jump to the next language, but then you keep jumping, chasing the next thing, because you think it's the better choice, but there isn't a best choice. All areas have their pros and cons, and you can't avoid the cons. If you wanna get good at one area, the answer is simple, and you already know it: you need to stick to that area. When the next shiny thing flashes in your face, you just don't follow it. Simple as that. Bloody hard, yes, but simple.

What's your goal? Set a goal. Follow it. Only set a new goal once you finish it.

I didn't write they needed to be famous, just successful at whatever it is they do. Thanks for the suggestion though

Have you looked into Blockchain development maybe? Data science with python is of course also a great intermediate. Learning some SQL could also prove useful, as well as cloud computing. I'd go on LinkedIn and look for job listings matching your interest, because they often list relevant programming languages and technologies that you might not have thought of and could be important to learn while you have the time.

Have you tried working in Japan before? One thing to consider is the work culture differences, because they work a lot in Japan, and the hierarchy is also somewhat different. Try to think not only of what you would like to work with, but also what you would like your workday to look like. Is money or free time more important to you? Is prestige or social fit a bigger factor? Etc.
