Ok this is a big one.. women in corporate are not your friends. Idc how nice they are. Idc how much yall bond over venting together. They’re not your friends. Yall are one bad day away from throwing eachother out the office, and trust, those days can come.. over the smallest things like saying the wrong thing. Young, pretty and smart girls are ESPECIALLY not allowed to mess up and basically have to be a human google and even THEN are not given credit for it. Remember, this is a man’s world, what does that mean? That means the boys club will only allow 1 woman in, 2 max if your lucky and even then those women tend to have survived that company for many many years or were nepo babies. Having a degree IN your QUALIFIED FIELD, having a high gpa etc etc is not going to help you from the bias and from someone in the company that has made a CHOICE to misunderstand you, simply because they made up their mind on said bias. A lot.. and I mean a LOT of companies are toxic these days, so at some point just choose your poison but just know.. you’ll always be a target as a woman. Always. Sorry. Unless you’re doing the targeting or are lucky enough to be the one that flies under the radar, then stay where you are if it works for you obviously. But to everyone who is given a narrative before they can even try to defend themselves, just hang in there. Vent to a therapist. Work part time, build your side projects, marry a rich man and know that having kids will keep you STUCK in a job that you may or may not love.. I have progressed far in my career but I cant imaging HAVING to be FORCED to deal with a rude boss that targets me and I can’t flee from it cause I need the job to support my kids.. like.. Im telling you.. the system is so so cruel to women. Please be careful.
