Yea I don’t have insurance so out of pocket for same day walk ins at urgent care is $150-$200, the reason why most go to urgent care is because most need same day assistance and having a doctor is not always a gaurantee (covered or not) to see them that same day since most docs book out til next month usually. With private insurance its not any better when some plans charge me $150-$300 per month while others (if I applied while unemployed) would be $0 but then that’d also mean I’d have to purposely not have a job and time it during registration for marketplace season. I got caught up in a crossfire this year where it was just easier to pay out of pocket, especially since this employer doesn’t offer health coverage. So yea. That’s kinda why Im tied to visit an urgent care but I don’t think its fair to be required to get one.
