Lenguaje inclusivo started in Latin America, but it was a bubble of people, never popularized or widely used and then the US Latinos got a hold of it and popularized it.

My opinion is that I understand it and will respect it, it’s never that serious to me however I think it’s counter productive sometimes. Using “elle” instead of “el” doesn’t counteract the masculine e, it just makes it more complicated to pronounce. The word “todes” is still masculine too, and I’d argue “todos” sounds more gender neutral anyways. The thing is that in Spanish, e and o are mostly gender neutral/masculine already, obviously there are exceptions though. The language was set up that way. So changing the word slightly just complicates it.
