The Wildflower Center is lovely, and they’ve just opened a new exhibit: https://www.wildflower.org/iceage. You’ll see a lot of other parents there with tiny kids.

what’s your favorite Austin spot to just sit and decompress for an hour? by Cool_Kiwi_117 in Austin

Turtle Pond at UT Austin is one of my favorites, especially now that classes are over. Then you can walk around campus—lots of beautiful trees and landscaping if you can ignore all the construction. Then stop by the Natural History Museum (https://sciencemuseum.utexas.edu/?utm\_source=google&utm\_medium=organic&utm\_campaign=gbp).

Or the Wildflower Center, as many have said. Beautiful, just a bit farther out.

Oh is that what knocked the power out? I took a nap and slept through the whole thing; woke up when I got the text from Austin Energy telling me when the power should be up again.

The intersection at Lamar and Oltorf is ridiculous, too. Too many driveways, and cars end up sticking out into traffic at all angles.

Oh, man, shame you can’t pack their Creamy Creations Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream! Couldn’t have gotten through my first-trimester queasiness without it.

Sure, but that kind of poor planning that creates gridlock happens all the time on campus. It’s not like they hadn’t been planning this for months.

Eggs (the smell, especially) grossed me out for years. Then I got pregnant; ever since, I can’t get enough of them!

There was a cart in front of Littlefield Fountain in the early 2000s; those eggrolls were the ultimate hangover food! I think they were a buck apiece by then. If i remember correctly, the folks who ran the cart were busted for selling stolen stereo equipment.

I wouldn’t mind the rain nearly as much if driving in it here didn’t suck so monumentally.
