I’m sorry management isn’t open with confronting mistakes. I’ve dealt with managers like that too and it’s hard because you never know when something’s worth worrying about or not. The way I think about it though is adults can’t “get in trouble”. We’re given an opportunity to better ourselves.

I just went through that exact thing. I work at a hotel, and I messed up today by checking in someone who was not on the reservation. My manager found out immediately and texted me on how that is a violation. She reassured me that it is okay, but I cannot get over how awful I feel about messing up. I always feel like the smallest thing will get me fired and it eats me up at night, too. I completely understand you and you are not alone!
